And a truly intelligent race wouldn't use AI in weapon systems, at least not initially. The ride going to be very bumpy. Question is, will humanity survive? If it does not, it will be because it did not deserve to.
...we had one of these noisy beasts in our open plan office. The sticky fizzy drink trick wouldn't have worked seeing as there was no real alternative. We eventually silenced the beast with a sound proof printer cabinet. Sanity returned, almost. Wading through 2 inch thick accordion printouts was never pleasant. Print quality was dire too. Happy daze!
Personally, I'm quite happy with the current site layout. Only minor problem is that articles tend to be repeated on the home page when I scroll down. Aside from that, seems fine. Article tags such as On-Call etc are really handy for finding what I want to read. Tried the new layout and went back to the old one. My tuppence worth.
Many moons past I nearly got myself arrested for taking photos in the Milton Keynes court complex. Nobody told me I couldn't take photos - I was carrying out an inspection as part of my work. Some magistrate, clerk or other had seen me snapping away which led to my being told off. The next time I had to inspect a court, I didn't take a camera. You live, you learn.
In my experience - I do quite a bit of translating - Google translate is OK for English to Italian and vice versa but the results do need reviewing and are rarely, if ever, "production" ready. You really need to know both languages in depth to be able to produce translations that are accurate and well written. The AI is getting better but it's far from perfect. Maybe it will be in 10 or so years.
Hey thanks Adam - by deferring the feature update, I've finally managed to get my Surface Pro 4 running the 1703 update.
Seems you may well be right. Microsoft does indeed appear to have messed up.
Would love to know how many others are still stuck in the Win 10 1607 black (or maybe blue) hole because of this. Well, now there's a way for them to get Win 10 1703.

Have had Surface Pro 4 for a few months. Ended up with hot bag syndrome a couple of times and the thing fell asleep and locked up until power button pressed and held to reboot system.
I don't put the thing to sleep much and tend to turn it off fully - to avoid the sleep of death issue so haven't had too many problems. When the thing does play up, detaching and reattaching the keyboard sometimes works.
I've kind of come to regard the Surface as a keyboard-less laptop and not a tablet. Battery life is not too good and nowhere near as good as my iPad mini - which wakes up unfailingly when I hit its button.
Despite the hassles, I like the Surface Pro owing to its ability to use real windows - something which Android and iDevices can't do.
Hopefully Microsoft will sort this sleep issue out or else I'll go for a MacBook Air next time. In fact, I kind of wished I'd opted for a MacBook Air anyway - I'd miss the touchscreen though.
