Is Lenovo a blind spot in US anti-China security measures?

Re: Promise you won't smell no...

Interesting you find the need to go through all that...for what reason? Anyways, China has already proven that they will use nefarious tactics (SuperMicro and Lenovo as examples) to place hardware sneakers on motherboards. You choose to be blind even though it's hitting you in the face...sad for your peers and country.

Bought my wife this watch and we had to turn off the fall detection. We attended grandchild's sports tournament and every time she clapped, it set off the fall detection. Other than that, she likes the feature where she can go off for a while w/o carrying her bulky phone.

El Reg now politically biased....you're outta here!

After reading the first few sentences of the article, I am hanging up my El Reg morning habit and deleting the bookmark. I liked that I didn't have to put up with political bias from this online resource in the past, but obviously it has taken sides:

"...the US Customs and Border Protection agency – best known for separating small kids from their asylum-seeking families at the American border."

Not true and seeks to create controversy. Quite a shame since I've followed you for so many years. Please change your ways or we lose yet another source of reliable information.

Blood spilled from another US high school shooting has yet to dry – and video games are already being blamed

Re: Can't deny reality

I cannot upvote this enough!!! Glad someone had the ability to put reason into these comments....

For all those saying guns are the problem, why not ban knives, lighters, bats, cars, and anything else used to kill people? Cigarettes and alcohol kill more people than guns!

The person who kills another like in these school shootings has a mental issue. It's possible that this person has been aided by desensitization because of movies, TV and violent video games. Can we go more to the root of the problem please?? How easy is it to say 'take the guns'? What's next...take the knives? Takes the bats and rocks and sticks? How about we regulate the use of video games and hold parents liable for what their children take in? How about we invest more money into mental health care? How about we tie responsibility of child to parent? Stop glorifying killers, conduct stronger background checks, enforce existing laws....

Have you seen the behavior of kids nowadays in school? I would not want anyone I care about to be a teacher in the USA. IT IS ALL ABOUT PARENTS TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR CHILDREN!!! You want to cut down on ALL violence? Get the parents to do their JOB!! SMH

Hyper-converged prospects? Thanks to firm-gobbling habit and OEM deal, Dell has 3

Still waiting for an answer on why you don't move performance to a server-SAN....price?

mattcang

If you are not considering hyper-converged technology today, you will likely be left behind tomorrow. With SSD capacity growing at an awesome pace, $/GB dropping at the same time, and technologies like 3D XPoint coming to a datacenter near you in the next year, why would you NOT buy into hyper-converged? External arrays are for cheap-and-deep cold storage in two years, connected via 10/40/100Gb iSCSI/NAS. Anything needing performance sits in a server-SAN with SSD's. Not suprised to see this rapid growth and product development.
