UK officials caught napping ahead of 2G and 3G doomsday

Think of the cost!

I'm now involved in the upgrade of radio bits in public transport vehicles for passenger announcements, which is nowhere near critical, just convinence for public. New hardware (or add on as in our case, so just the radio bit is updated) is a fraction of the cost. Real cost is labour, and these bloody things got wheels and mind of its own so catching these to do the work is a challenge! I can't imagine headache to do it times millions of affected devices. It's years of project planning and a lot of £¥€$

Would you share the title of said documentary?

Modern life is rubbish – so why not take a trip down memory lane with Windows File Manager?

Re: Cool beans..

I can concur, I could not work with anything else, and I do a lot of file management.

Proud owner of a licence for this masterpiece of software. To be honest, this is the only thing which stops me from using Linux on my work machine, the file manager. I do poke Linux via Putty (kitty actually) on daily basis, but the Linux desktop is a no-go area due to lack decent file manager.

Re: Is it really cost effective ?

Need to look into it, I've seen it on the website, never got to try.

And my needs are, as you correclty described, different to the business needs.

Backing up few machines, works for me.

Is it really cost effective ?

Please correct me, how this is better than, lets say Kimsufi.

0.01 per GB times 2000 fot 2TB, thats 20 per month.

If you rent bunch of boxes from OVH, for 10 per month with 2TB hard drive in it, you would be better off, tranfer already included in price. Obvioulsy put at least two copies of each file on different boxes just in case one is going to fail. And instant access.

Re: Damn

Regarding the aliases and customer error messages, are you using comercial provider for this, or is it home brew set up ?

I've my own email server, I managed the custom error message as well, however I can only do it by hand via SSH. I would like to be able to do it via website, much easier.

Dual sim cards and SD card

Hi.

Can someone confirm it can take 2 sim cards AND SD card at one time? I've the honor 4x, which can take 2 sim cards and sd card, this is the setup I'm using daily.

Unfortunately the 4x has only 8gb storage, and since update to android 5 the phone is unusable as it runs out of storage after installing 15 or so apps.. I want to sell it and update to 5x if it can take 2 sim cards and sd card simultaneously.

Has any one got other suggestions for a decent phone with 2 sims and sd card which can do UK 4g bands 3,7 and 20?

Max budget circa £200
