It isn't surprising. Streaming/Audio files are fantastically convenient and eminently portable. CDs (except as a purchase/hard backup medium) are en par with vinyl, although with a little more durability and convenience. Vinyl is a 'lifestyle' choice in the main (I have to confess I still listen regularly and enjoy my vinyl on a Rega turntable (no directional cables foto the pre-amp though) and enjoy the experience -including raising my arse off the sofa to turn the record over). My eldest son (who only saw vinyl as a child and was encouraged not to play with Dad's collection and rather use the CDs and then the ripped versions), has acquired a turntable and enjoys it - as much retro novelty as anything else (although being a tad younger will have a rather better audio range than myself).

Besides, you need some sacrificial vinyl for the coming zombie apocalypse.

I worked for HP in distant times, they were very relaxed although I don't know how things have changed 'post Carly'. Smelly and unwashed was not acceptable (rightly) but everything else seemed to to work. Happy times (really).

You have to ask? With magic trade deals with China scuppered and a dominant parliamentary party who appear to hate our neighbours, I am sure Johnson is praying that the US will ride to the rescue. At least it will distract the Daily Mail and others from the breakup of the 'United Kingdom'. Past governments (of both colours) have put all of their eggs in the financial services basket, so technology is just an irrelevance to them.

Yes, only one trip in my case (there was a bit of a kerfuffle and my company sprung for a one way trip - back on a rather slower but very much more comfortable flight). Interesting and noisy experience, but I could not take advantage of any of the champagne on offer - I was working an hour after landing.
