It doesn't help that London's finest are so dedicated to the cause of ridding our streets of electric scooters and cycles. To avoid fines and confiscation I leave mine at home and just use the car.

Anyone could publish source code stripped of comments and sane formatting, but no-one would consider that useful or even usable, right?
If gov.uk is going to make data public, it should be in a sensible format, not simply a dump which suggests they were dragged to a reluctant compliance.

Kidding. But most of them have at least one nice thing the others dont. SVN has partial checkouts which are awesome but Git checkouts carry the 'full DNA' and merging has always been simple. Pick your poison. Both have their killer punch. As a contractor I dont get to choose anyway.

Oh come on, it's only money
Spending or even dealing responsibly with money one has to either earn oneself or be held accountable for would imply a sense of it's value. No such thing is happening here, uk.gov truly is the realm where the stuff grows on trees.
Ditto for NHS IT spending, just add a few zeroes to the cost.
