Beer at Home means Davenports

As a nipper growing up in Birmingham we had daily deliveries from the Milkman and the Baker, a weekly delivery of pop from the Corona van, plus a weekly delivery of Beer from the Davenports van.

TSB

I've had a TSB contactless Debit card for just over a year now. As an incentive to use the card TSB credit my account with 5% of the monthly spend. The local pub has contactless terminals so the more I drink the more I save.

( I think that the 5% incentive is due to expire at the end of this year )

Great commenting.

I often find that the comments on articles can be more informative than the article itself.

Walking the dog

I run and have used a variety of Garmin GPS watches over the years. Some have "smart recording" and some allow you to select a 1 second recording interval. I was told that typical accuracy for a wrist worn GPS unit was at best +/- 5 Metres from your true position, and that you should visualised going for a walk with a hyperactive dog on a 5 metre lead. While you are following the path the dog is dashing hither and thither around your location.

The software algorithms try to make sense of this erratic track and generally make a good job of it.

Re: Infrastructure Upgrade??

I'm in the Poole / Bournemouth area and am currently with Giffgaff who I think are using the 02 network.

I was tempted by an offer from 3, checked their online coverage map and all seemed well. I decided to get a 3 PAYG SIM just to double check and it's a good job that I did. 1 bar where I live, and very patchy when I am out and about.

Giffgaff has worked well for me, they recently upgraded the rolling monthly contract to 4G and doubled my data allowance at no extra charge.

If you haven't already checked them out it might be worth taking a look.

Yes, a strange world we live in where until fairly recently Walkers Cheese and Onion flavour crisps weren't " Suitable for Vegetarians ", yet their Smoky Bacon and Roast Chicken flavour were.
