Thursday changes

Odds on somebody made a badly tested change last night.

Why oh why do people think that Thursday night is a good time to make changes?

Lots of my mainframe-based clients do this and I cannot for the life of me understand why. It's just asking for trouble.

Why the delay?

I note that https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/3079904 is dated 16th July 2015. Given the toxic nature of this vulnerability, I have to wonder why the delay in publicising the fix. An awful lot of hacking can happen in four days.
