Sky Broadband is not the UK's cheapest, growls ad watchdog

Re: Disappointingly

Slightly luddite attitude for a reader of this publication? No offense, just find it a bit incongruous here :)

UK finds itself almost alone with centralized virus contact-tracing app that probably won't work well, asks for your location, may be illegal

Re: Swedish model

Nonsense - no country will remain coronavirus free when there are countries that are not. It will get everywhere again, unless we live in permanent lockdown. No vaccine, no cure, most of the population susceptible. Norway's current position is not the end game by any stretch of the imagination. Your judgement is coloured by politics.

Re: Stick to the tech, please

'Current deaths'. This thing ain't over, no vaccine, no cure. Some countries have more deaths at this stage but all will be similar in the end - if the IFR is the same, adjusted for culture and demographics.

Re: I cannot understand why HMRC pursues contractors so much.

Everyone avoids taxes to some extent. Putting extra cash into pension for example. Perhaps you could volunteer your free pay allowance - if you have one - and pay tax from the ground? Or pay into your pension pot after tax?

Self driving cars should not even be on the roads

Let's face it, AI and sensor input is not up to it. Christ if AI was sufficiently sophisticated to make the myriad subtle decisions required to drive a car safely in all conditions, smartphone personal assistants would be flawless. Aeroplanes wouldn't need pilots (given the technical infrastructure around aviation, a much easier but to cracking surely than driving a car). Based on the tech of today, these things will inevitably cause crashes.

I'll wait for the downvotes.....

Have you actually used BB10? For 'getting stuff done' it is unrivalled imho. Extremely polished and intuitive, fast and fluid. Shame no one knows about it really....

Crap collection of overpriced garbage

Why a 2015 laptop with oodles of ram and an i5 processor just is only good enough to run office and light web browsing is beyond me. IT hacks have been saying that about 'entry level' machines for 15 years. So either performance has not improved over that time or......

Plus these are not entry level machines at those prices, in spite of the crap specifications.
