What took you so long, BlackBerry? Facebook BBM suit is way overdue

dodo27

Copy BlackBerry more please.

BlackBerry pretty much wrote the book at putting important functions and shortcuts at the users fingertips.

Is that why most android and ios apps are faster if you learn how to use your phone upside down.

Bb10 o.s is pretty much wiped out now. Time to make the most popular o.s's half decent.

Use BlackBerry's 38,000 patents, pay royalties, licensing fees or fight them in court, whatever. Just start making decent phones (with all the apps).

Android Security: How's BlackBerry going to fix it?

It's the BES that secures the phone. Everything in BlackBerry's workspace is encrypted.

Not that I care. Am buying the slider because I want BlackBerry's productivity, battery life, shortcuts, typing speed, accuracy, active frames and all the apps.

Five things that doomed the big and brilliant BlackBerry 10

BlackBerry 10 runs android 4.3

Honestly, BlackBerry 10 is a great operating system, unrivalled when it comes to productivity and the qnx hypervisor allows it to have an android runtime of 4.3.

Since the 10.3.1 update my berries have been running android apps that don't depend on google play services better than my android devices.

It's great to see them offering a google play services option with the slider. I seriously hope the user interface has bb10's active frames or something similar.

The shortcuts, the universal inbox the typing speed and accuracy and the battery life are the reasons I use and provide my staff with BlackBerry 10 devices.

BB10 AND Android? How BlackBerry can have its cake and eat it

BlackBerry 10 devices already run android on the side. O.S 10.3.1 runtime is android 4.3. Next step is adding the option of google play services support.

Superior user interface, universal search, shortcuts and easy access to all the apps. Can't wait for their next step.

There's no reason for BlackBerry to adopt the android operating system. All android offers that's special is apps. BlackBerry 10's qnx micro kernel can already run android apps on the side.

BlackBerry on Android? It makes perfect sense

Re: relevant?

BlackBerry 10 o.s's design and patent superiority lies in

-mulititasking.

-hotkey shortcuts and qwerty navigation.

-universal inboxes (hub). that can control emails, texts, instant messages, notifications and phone calls all in the same place

- customization in the hub, quick settings and universal search.

- Best typing experience on the market.

- security.

BlackBerry 10 o.s/qnx already has an android container that can run apps without effecting the workplace security on their phones. Users can install the google play store and a version of google play services on their BlackBerry 10 devices. Most apps work well straight away, but some apps that rely heavily on things like google maps need to be patched to work well. Process involves connecting the phone to your pc or mac. Installing a patcher. Choosing to patch that file and reinstalling on the phone. Takes a couple of minutes per app.

BlackBerry will have to pay google a commission for google play services to work officially. The current setup is not consumer friendly.

Not much point in BlackBerry producing a flagship all touch device without google play services.
