Watt? You thought the wireless charging war was over? It ain't even begun

Hmm, Maybe...

Tesla had a great idea, free energy for benefit not profit.

Here we have energy with controlled profit and only those that pay will benefit.

Does this mean we will be password protecting this just like we password protect our wireless internet?

Lucky Canada. Google chooses Toronto as site of posthuman urban lab

Just let those social media nutcases have their fun.

By creating this Googlopolis(tm) and all the data collected within, we can(maybe) see from a controlled environment what would(may) happen instead of assuming based on fictional stories(Skynet/Matrix?) Would self-willed machines really be all that bad? We should not avoid trying things because someone with a creative mind created a worse case scenario story. That's like never going swimming ever because there was a sea creature you saw in a movie that wants to eat you. The 'sheeple' who wish to be part of this machine controlled 'utopia' should have the right to present themselves as an entire reality TV show for the entertainment of those who want to watch. Obviously there must be people who want to see this, just look at the the state of the US presidency...(I see this as a reality TV show taking over a country, or the sequel to that apprentice show)

If they want it, let them have it, the rest of us can enjoy the wonders of actual reality while crossing our fingers that they don't decide to 'consume?' us. Oh wait, we already are the consumed and the consumers...

What if...

...these particles are a form of communication we have yet to discover?

EU privacy gurus peer at Windows 10, still don't like what they see

USAian

In the states, born and raised, have never left the country, don't even have a passport. I live under the assumption that everything I do, have done, will do... has the potential to be recorded. I am not delusional enough to think I ever really had "privacy" since the the beginning of electronic communication. I walk out the front door and I know some local resident has seen me and may likely gossip about me slipping on the ice and doing the dance of balance trying not to fall on my posterior.

All these companies people are tweaking about that are slurping data have been doing it all along, nothing has changed. Your fruit flavored devices, your micro$oft products and I have little doubt your linux product is tracking, saving, calling home.

So what do we really achieve pointing at these big businesses? In the end all this leads to technology advancement that someone else is making money off but we KEEP BUYING THE TOYS.

In my opinion, they can watch all they like and I will randomly look up seals raping penguins just to keep them guessing what exactly goes through my mind.

Broke my cup holder...

Elderly fella calls the shop complaining his cup holder broke and wanted to get a new one. He also asked how easy they would be to install. I let him know most person computers lack that feature and I would be happy to help him get it sorted.

Later that day, he arrived with a desktop PC with a broken CD tray. After a short discussion about what the drive actually was for, he still decided he wanted to replace it and would continue to use it as he had described.

So just WHO ARE the 15 per cent of Americans still not online?

Small Town Minnesota

A good number of the people in my area [not on the internet] have no desire to be there. Many say they have no use for it despite my pointing out the benefits. They have computers, routers, smartphones, wireless printers and tablets. The smartphone gets used to make and receive phone calls. If software needs to be activated or updated, they come in to this small town computer shop and have us do it for them. These are not unintelligent or unemployed people, they are more along the lines of hard working farming families that consider the internet as a distraction.

Re: DVD Playback

Just get VLC and watch your DVDs...

My best guess, M$ doesnt want to pay for a decoder for each OS sold since many of these will not be installed on a system with a DVD player, or any other type of optical media for that matter. Folndleslabs and many lappies dont come with one.
