Germany, France lobby hard for terror-busting encryption backdoors – Europe seems to agree

Apptifred

"As has been pointed out many times, it isn't mathematically or technologically possible to build a backdoor into encryption that is completely exclusive to a select set of people, and can't be found and exploited by others."

As a politician, you can wish for a lot of things, but if it is mathematically impossible, it is. You cannot put legal requirements on using time traveling to prevent crimes either. Sci-Fi is Sci-Fi. Math is math.

Dropbox: Oops, yeah, we didn't actually delete all your files – this bug kept them in the cloud

Now, this makes you think twice again about Dropbox security. Deleting files doesn't delete files. They can come back as zombies and haunt you. What more do they claim, that really doesn't happen?

Small businesses trashed in big malware campaign

Apptifred

SMEs are good at running their business, but they are not good at protecting it from cyber crime. Lack of knowledge and resources leaves them wide open to fraud and theft.

But they are small and cannot afford the security trained organizations of larger corporations. Security is too complex and difficult today and has to be made simple by the suppliers. It's our fault if it's not being used, not the SMEs.
