Meanwhile in Scotland.......

Re: Scotland, you beat me to it almost, dare I say google Spire, The Nuggets that are the SNP have allowed 'anonymised' Scot NHS records to be used by any research depts/uni etc excl. marketing (cough) companies on an opt out basis for patients, not that they advertised it, let's hope the ICO can give them a friendly visit too, I would say Scot Govt. but this lot are more like Dictators. What could possibly go wrong?

Apple backs down from barring widow her dead husband's passwords

Re: I'd Say,

The Reg article's a bit unclear, on the Canadian site, says she had pin for pad, but didn't know

His Apple ID, all stemmed from not being able to play a card game, so clear cut, no backdoors

on iPad, reset was for Apple ID, but the person requesting it was not immediate family, but the daughter of the deceased, no doubt with a different name.

I'd Say,

Quite right of Apple to be cautious, she knew the pin for the iPad, so no issues with backdoors, but didn't know the password for his email address / apple id, Obviously deceased didn't have 2FA or would've been easy as a reset or maybe he did & that was the issue & when contacting Apple it was the daughter that was doing it.

Apple's AirDrop abused by 'cyber-flashing' London train perv

Number_6

You take a pic & whatever reason someone in your office wants it, but you don't want any further dealings with them / give them your details, so you airdrop it, simples! But seriously the story is guff, you CAN turn off airdrop as previously said by swiping up & changing from everyone back to contacts / off, you HAVE to accept picture when sent from a random person / contact, slow news day?
