Re: Anti-Sony fabois oppportunity?
Your usage of 'fanbois' is incorrect 'fanbois' are fans not haters, (there is a clue in the name). unless you mean a chance to knock sony fans, but that makes no sense as its Sony in the sight.
As you have commented, Sony are not perfect in fact, like other corporate behemoths (yes those you mentioned + others) they are about as far from perfect as the rest. a few good products does not make them good, a few bad products does not make them bad. but depending on what you get depends on your opinion. Having opinions doesn't make one the scum of the earth. here's my opinion Sony are just another Greedy Corporate Shit. They stifle progress to make a few bucks... That opinion comes from the last Sony Product I bought, I regret it! go on see if you can change my mind.
The K850i was a huge step backwards in comparison to the K800i, I expect this will be also.
I was quiet happy to use the K800 as my only camera for short break holidays this is not the case with the K850 the flash doesnt work properly it cant focus for video the pictures are bigger but worse quality, all of which were good on the K800i I still steal it from the missus and leave the 850 in my pocket.
I dont expect my next phone to be SE. it'll be from a company that doesnt have a camera wing to satisfy. afterall sony sell cameras seperatly.
I want two features from my camera phone, can you guess what they are?? its not an Mp3 or radio!
P.
@Ashlee
I cant fathom how storage on the Cherry affects the storage capacity of my MP3 Player?? If I can get tunes from web2pod by using the cherry then why do i need PC storage? (yeah backup yadda yadda but not critical!)
@John Robson - USB-NIC not good enough for your internet connection? please tell me who your ISP is! there may be a driver issue though.
My reason for posting...
anyway if this thing will stream video from my NAS then I'll velcro it to the back of the TV in a jiffy! sold.
(wot no dvi/video port - well my tv has a vga connector so who cares!)
That E-W CR96 street is clearly available (from the other carrigeway):

Perhaps it was the northern Pleasant lake road that was removed:

"Samsung is knocking out new handset designs so fast it is losing the knack of landing a killer punch"
Of course, got to have something 0.0001% better to sell next week. good business practice dont you know! if you make it too good you wont sell anything afterwards.
Not just samsung though, as with the K850i upgrade to 5MP camera!!, but downgrade the ability to focus on video, downgrade the ability to use the flash properly in close up etc etc the K800 camera is so much better quality than the K850. and even though the K850 has more pixels, the K800 pictures are better when printed.... anyway sony makes cameras seperatly, so there will never be a knockout from them... k850 was my last sony device and will remain so, the're shite!. my next phone will be from a company that doesn't make cameras sepertatly... maybe Noknok...
Fortunatly Cisco routers are usually corporate with staff empolyed to manage them however your bog standard home owned 24/7 unmanaged Generic Routers like home hub or divebox well then we have a problem.. Were all doomed I tell ya! well ok maybe not doomed but the ISPs need to wake up and do something about infected customers!
How can you put the terms 'accelerated ion weapon' together and not see how this might work...has anyone here heard of xenon ion drives? aka Nasa' new toy. Now you have a high speed (30km/s) stream of ionised particals then zap you have a fried pigeon. oh and a nice cool blue glow. just dont run out of gas. but then again perhaps a nitrogen based version is possible? or would you just get a brown glow? everyone knows brown is not cool! anyway I dont think the recoil from the ion drive will too dificult to handle unless you work with a government budget........
Anyway this is all wasted if your victim is either not earthed or has a taser jacket on... (aka conductive cloth acts like faraday cage.)
ok enough rambling... mines the one with the carbon strands in the kevlar weave.... next to the tinfoil one..
Was anyone else expecting new options in the comments? or is it just mine thats not working?
Grats on the googlewhack! http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Guantemanomo
Heh - typical Yank idiocy, but then what do you expect with a president who can't spell 'Nuculer' without the aid of Homer Simpson, eh?
Paris, because she knows what Yanks their todgers.
I've had a pair of Western Digital GP Drives in my QNAP 209 for a couple of months now, as this is a NAS box running on Gigabit LAN as a Volume Storeage Device I am not too concerned about the fastest seek read write etc as its my LAN that holds me back, However I was very impressed to find a company serious about low power drives, this had to be the only choice for an always on NAS Box. 10/10!
So who is really using TB drives for anything other than volume storage?? I suspect gamers are still going to buy 15k Raptors.
next volume review please include NAS suitibility ranks..
such as Be/O2. They currently offer an "unlimited" "24Mb" service for under £20/month, and a 24/7 unlimited one (what's the difference?) is only just over £20.
I am now a very happy Be customer, I get the Full 24mb down and I pay just over £20 a month so I get 2.6Mb Up too (thats the difference!) I used to be with a provider who resold BT I used to get 6mb max down and 128kb up, and they used to moan and waive fups about.
Ask yourself why Some ISPs are compalining (reselling BT crap) and the decent ones like Be are offering what the customers want high bandwidth, on thier own fibre, and good service, and still making money.
ISP's pay by volume, BT most be laughing thier heads off.. Data is not like water, it wont run out, it should not be metered, the size of the pipe is what is important. and what should determine the price. none of this useage nonsense.
IMO Phorm are not going to give two hoots about the quality of data collected they make there money from marketing people who belive that the ads are targetted, and hence pay premium rates. Afterall marketing is all about perceptions and assumptions, not facts.
There will of course be revenue carved off to The ISP based on adds served by users, and of course to get around the DPA Legalities The ISP will Buy and run the Servers from Phorm (they will operate a maintainance agreement with Phorm) that way no data leaves the ISP as they own the kit, the servers will be connected to the net to retrieve and serve adverts and tell Phorm how much is served so the ISP gets paid. (Kent thinks this is ok as the data does not leave the ISP. I think this is bad beacuse they are intercepting/injecting it all. no choice!) This setup does not take due regard of RIPA.
and unless the ISP's start offering free broadband I dont think anyone is going to want to be monitored like this without more benefit. google deserve my data as they provide excellent service to me. phorm do not serve me. (not the right type of adds benefit! sometimes I like odd ads they remind me of other things. and whats wrong with car ads on car sites? - oh but he mainly looks at car sites but they are expensive so advertise on this cheaper news site he reads also..)
Today I will mainly be getting Phorm Ads, as its been my priority this week, and fortunatly my ISP is not even entertaining the idea. I love my 24mbit adsl2+Thankyou be*ings.
If you ask me this is akin to supermarkets tapping your phone calls, when you happen to say 'hill of beans' in a random phone call the next day a 5p off Beans voucher hits your doormat.
but its ok the drones listening are cheap forign labourers they dont care what you say. so it doesn't matter that there listening just forget about them....
This is very bad!
When I use the phone I dont want people listening, when I use the ATM I dont want people interfereing when I change the TV Channel I dont wan t people peeking through my letterbox to see what Im watching. and when I use the Internet I dont want people snooping.
SIMPLE.
That comparrison to google is lame, I choose to use Google. NOT PHORM. >:o(
bit dangerous if case heat builds up.... say in july, in a non aircon'd room..
the best stirling engines are only less than 40% efficient (these are the free piston electro generators from sun power aka NASA @ Glen) the mechanical versions like this are very poor say 15% energy conversion. perhaps just a big alu fin might work better. will be interesting to see the stats..
Now what if they used a high efficiency free piston style electo generator and used it to power a case fan to produce through flow .. that would be really cool...
Bollocks!
Hydrogen needs to be mixed with oxygen to combust. perhaps you think that incendury bullets are filled with liquid oxygen? well they are not! perhaps you think that with a hole in the pressurised hydrogen tank that the oxygen will rush in, it wont the hydrogen rushes out. perhaps you think a jet of gas and an air mix is explosive, two words, Bunsen Burner! hardly a terrorist weapon!
The Hindenburg burned (being canvas!) like a tent would. it did not explode. if it had there really would not be any film footage!
Hydrgen is only explosive when mixed with the RIGHT quantity of air, so dont keep these busses inside a depot if they leek! otherwise it just burns like any other flamable gas. like on your cooker/cigarette lighter etc.
In order to get any dangerous combustion you would need to remove the tank entirly instantly, and since they dont pop like ballons, the risk is just not there.
Cant help but think that insulation may be somewhat different in antartica to the moon, what with the cold air verses no air issue??? on the moon it will be like living in a thermos flask. but hey probably still useful for mars data.
lets just hope that nasa doesn't send pricks into space, talking of which isn't James Blunt seriously Ironic?
Just imagine how amazing this will be when I can just unplug memory or just plug in some more.... or even unplug a cpu and plug in a new one.
I for one cant wait. when are the going on sale? and more importantly will it beat the screwdriver into the shops?
I really dont see users making proper use of the heatsinks! I think I'll roll up this leaf.. hmm its stopped working good job I can unplug it and send it back to the manufacturer.
Seriously I would be impressed if she had invented the apporpriate busses to make uniplugable possible! but she hasn't all that she has done is make a film prop. not news worthy really...
How many users tried for free before paying? how does this price reflect on downloads by IP? even that is not a true reflection, I know a couple of people who have redownloaded from work because they paid already from home. I think it has been well recieved.
It would be worthwhile eputting a survey on the for free's, have you downloaded before and paid? or do you intend to pay if you download again?
Isn't NNTP a spin off from SMTP arn't they very similar to each other? both client & Server host based etc??
How long before hotmail/yahoo/[Mail provider of choice] is fingered for facilitating copying of digital files? 'you mean the files were stored on thier servers?'
I'm of to mail my audio files to myself, via a mail provider I dont like...
PS where the Ass of America Icon?
The majority of the programs available from the iplayer are pure dross, anything from daytime tv rules.. iplayer lacks all of the serious quality programs that we like the beeb for. You have to search through twenty bargain hunts or cash in the attics to find the one blue planet, or top gear. and when you can only view 9 programs at a time from a slow webserver it reallly sux it takes long to find your download than to watch it!
