Uber is killing off iconic black cabs, warns Zac Goldsmith

Planty Bronze badge

Re: It's bloody chinese owned now anyway so who gives a hoot!

The Uber drivers I have spoken to think Uber is great for drivers , just as its great for consumers.

It seems this is yet another shitstorm created by those that just woke up from their complacency sleep.

I don't live in London, but on a recent us trip I used Uber at Heathrow and stateside, and the experience was superb, a million miles away from a expensive grubby black cab that still smells of the cabbie's bacon butty he just finished.

Not fishy at all

Kaspersky (and others) are constantly misleading people by overplaying stories about malware on Android to try and sell their solutions.

It does. Mine hit the projected payback in two year. I can correlate £10 a month saving to fitting Nest. The house is warmer when it needs to be in addition

I have years worth of historic energy use in my online account and can see a sizeable reduction since fitting nest. Last winter was a particularly cold and extended one too.

I also love the monthly nest energy report emails.

Worth every penny any then some. Also a doddle to fit, especially if you use the desktop stand.

Good luck with that. Word on the street is that it's a one way trip. Once you upgrade to Windows 10, there is no way back. Your licence key is irreversibly "upgraded" from a Win7 licence to a Win10 licence. Conviently (for Microsoft), there is no way to buy Windows 7 licences any more in retai either.

In other words, you didn't want to buy Metro, so this is a way to force the Metro on you, with no way back...
