Just read (on BBC News) that Michael Bloomberg has elected to become part of Democrats and may bid to become US President.
Could Bb have been seeded with a fake (mal-hw) story as part of campaign to discredit him (and his news org) early-on ?
Plame described most of her colleagues (back then) as being Fox (TV) lovers.
From that Bloomberg article: You end up with a classic Satan’s bargain,” one former U.S. official says. “You can have less supply than you want and guarantee it’s secure, or you can have the supply you need, but there will be risk. Every organization has accepted the second proposition.”
AI Automation is a “lever” - relying on expert maintenance else it will eventually fail. Maintenance - e.g. rule base formulation, training (induction, neural) is a specialist activity requiring knowledge not only of the technology but of the domain. Both of which evolve. Moral: long term success depends on sufficient (quality and number of) wizards retained.
It’s still software. The first flowcharts were for organising big buildings full of humans. Humans that can inherently cope by mending/bending rules and hiding issues.
Problem 1: New sets of humans will likewise need to be programmed - with knowledge, processes and training.
Problem 2: Such approaches might interact ok with similar approaches elsewhere, but how well are they likely to interact with computer based systems ? A ripe scenario for exploitation (as deliberate obstruction).
Safety Net: Return to Brit default - shouting louder at the foreigners when they “don’t understand” and threatening to take the football (our trade) away. Working well at the moment...
Webbing for oaken heat shield produced this confirmatory article:

...BUT same article refers to a nuclear test site manhole cover being the first object launched (unintentionally) into space (nuclear cannon) - which (sadly) from the following article appears to be urban myth:
