Smart homes may be a bright idea, just not for the dim bulbs who live in 'em

Over here in WestPondLand ('Mer'ca) I use X-10 which is nearly plug-n-play (set one rotary switch), available with wired or wireless controllers and uses no apps or other outside actors. I've never even had to change the house code because I'm probably the only one for a hundred miles (26399 Giraffes) that uses it.

I'd like to think some one makes a version for 208/220 volts seeing as it was invented in Scotland.

This article should sound familiar to anyone who remembers the DTACK Grounded newsletter.

Its Editor (nom de plume FNE) spent many pages extolling the virtues of assembler and efficient programming. I've been hiding from COVID for a while and lost track of time, but didn't realize I was back in the early eighties again. My favorite way is simpler - a diagonal stripe across the top of the card deck. Maybe not as exact as numbering, but will get you very close.
