Regarding the first two sentences/paragraphs, Dashlane (non free) gives multi-device sync, and also all data is stored "in the cloud" so safe if you lose a device for whatever reason. I guess this is where they may their money. I am a paid subscriber and am in my 3rd year I think. I love it. Does everything I need. I consider the free one to be nothing more than a taster.
