Just In Time Stock Control

Yeah, I wrote a Just In Time Stock Control and ordering system for the ZX81. It needed a minimum of 16KB, 32KB was better. Lots of hacks to save memory: PI/PI for zero, Peeks and Pokes everywhere.

The data was held on tape and needed loading into the arrays which could take 5 minutes to 10 minutes or longer.

Amazingly, it worked and reduced our stock holding nearly 70%! I seem to remember even selling it to a number of companies via ads in the computer rags.

Losing your middle finger...

Mercedes introduced fingerprint start on some of their top of the range S-Class cars. One day, car jackers cut off some poor bloke's index finger and stole his car....

Would you let cops give your phone a textalyzer scan after a road crash?

The number of people I see every day weaving all over the road because they are using their phone is horrifying.

If someone close to you was killed or very seriously injured by a distracted driver would you still vote No?

Distracted driving KILLS.

Chromecast video on UK, Euro TVs hertz so badly it makes us judder – but Google 'won't fix'

So far my experience with most Google software has not been good. It is released buggy when in actual fact it is, at best, a very early Beta.

It's up to us mugs who use it to sort out the problems. I have basically given up with most Google software as I want to do real work and not sort out their bugs.

What really frightens me is the Google self-drive car. If it's anything like their other software, there's going to be millions of dead people on our roads.
