No, my recollection is:
A car driven by a really incompetent lady driver crashes inside a basement carpark, setting off explosions and a huge fire. A family is trapped between two automatic fire doors until International Rescue is called in.

In Kim Stanley Robinson's "Mars" trilogy, the space elevator thingy came a crashing down during a war. The darn thing then wrapped itself around and around the planet crushing everything under its path.
I can see real estate values dropping..... Under a flight path?...No. Check! Near a freeway?...No. Check! Under the space elevaltor thingy crash zone?...Yes. Ooooer !
Mollases - It's no wonder English roads melt when the temperature goes over 60oF. The stuff would boil away here, the air temp regularly hits 120oF. God only knows how hot the roads get.
Salt - Now that sounds good for the car ! The Japanese cars must literally melt with rust.
Snow - You're welcome to the stuff. The only ice I want to see is that heaped around my next cold beer.
I dream of the day I can roam around a virtual, hi res, martian landscape. For some reason this has always been of great interest to me.
I will never get there physically, so the next best thing is to go on a digital trek around the canyons and mountains. Imagine standing 100 miles away from Olympus Mons and looking up up up....!!

Hey guys, keep your hair shirts on! I'm starting to wonder whether humans have evolved much reading some of the inane comments above. False claims of Ph Ds, spelling errors and the choice of vacuous leaders, it's all too much.
I know some Italians who have so much facial and body hair, they could have been extras in Planet of the Apes. And that's just the women!
