Who is listening
Who is listening to your data? Think you have nothing to hide your an open book? What happens when your kids are being profiled by organizations not just corporations that need to live within laws. What could happen, its all good right?

Nearly 20% of running Microsoft SQL Servers have passed end of support
Just Maybe
Just maybe the support windows should be longer and not dictated by a marketing upgrade cadence. I should not have to mention to this crowd that enterprises have many enterprise grade apps that need to be tested and remediated when a core component like sql is upgraded. Not to mention MS problem with expiring features that vendors are using in the newer versions of OS, and sql. There is no, none, zero reason sql cannot have a longer life except to drive profit to MS.
Twitter faces existential threat from world's richest techbro
Twitter rainforest is no Utopia
To read this article you would think that twitter is a brilliant utopia of free speech and ideas bouncing around harmoniously. Nothing could be further from the truth. When you suppress the speech of 78 million people and ban people for their ideas because they do not match yours speech is not free anymore. What you are left with is censorship in the ugliest form. It is akin to what the best dictators have done when someone disagreed with them. Intelligent people realize that truth lies somewhere between two sides, but twitter blocks one side entirely. For what reason? Now that is a question I would like the twitter board to answer.

Roundabouts are a game of chicken
Roundabouts are dumb. It makes a game of chicken out of an intersection. Our state is bought into the group think and has been installing them. No one likes them and for vehicles with trailers or for delivery they are a nuisance. It might be OK for europe where everything is cramped into small areas but the US is not built that way and these are not helping.
Parler games: Social network for internet rejects sues Amazon Web Services for pulling plug on hosting
Not all clouds are fluffy
It is amazing to me that companies still put their mission critical applications is a private cloud like AWS, Azure, etc. You are hoping that the other party will honor their agreement and if they don't? Well you get the problem Parler has. It used to be that politics was not an issue in contracts, but now it seems that the NWO is canceling all who do not agree with their world view.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Windows to become emulation layer atop Linux kernel, predicts Eric Raymond
Interesting Idea
Interesting Idea however the biggest advantage windows has over linux these days is Active Directory. Yes Samba can do some of it, but it is always multiple releases behind and the tooling is weak. I hope I see it happen one day and I can move off M$ for good. As of now many mission critical apps we use have COM components which is not supported on linux either.
What are your thoughts.

Just like in the days of Windows 8, brace for more adware and useless OS's coming from MS.
We need a windows alternative badly!
Maybe its Linux and Wine, but that on a users desktop? It still has a ways to go to be ready for the office especially in troubleshooting app errors.

Internet giants removing 70 per cent of reported hate speech, crows European Commission
Hate Speech VS Freedom of Speech
It seems that the people of the EU have had yet another freedom taken away from them, or said more appropriately decided for them. It seems the EU has taken it upon themselves to decide for everyone what is acceptable speech and what is not.
Who asked them to do that? The best and freest countries allow opinions from all points of view not just the ones that the government agrees with.

Stick to business
These idiots should stick to their business. It is obvious that they are taking the intellectually easy route and buying into the consensus. That is just not how science is done. Have you ever heard of the consensus of gravity, or the consensus of relativity? No there are proofs that must stand up to peer review and be repeatable. Man caused global warming has non of this. An intellectually honest person needs to look at all of this, do their homework, and not be swayed by public opinion.

Bigger Government is never the answer
If your goal is a more free internet as a conduit of ideas you do not want more government agencies taking control of want has been a free resource without them. That is something the socialists do not understand, less government = more freedom for the citizens.
Minnesota, Illinois rebel over America's ISP privacy massacre, mull fresh info protections
Always growing government
Minnesota and Illinois have never missed a chance to step on individual freedoms and grow their state government any chance they can get. The duplicate protections Trump got rid of were already included in laws by the FTC. That is not good enough for these two Marxist states, they want more control over people that live in their state and the companies that operate there. Can we expect any more from two states that advertise the generous welfare benefits each has, in each others state. With the goal to get more residents dependent on the government? There is a reason why companies are leaving this area.

Employer health coverage was a great way for employers to attract and retain talent. Now with this ACA abortion there is no options since the goal of the ACA was to force out private insurance so all that was left was the government. Go back to the days of Employer sponsored healthcare with competition and watch premiums drop back to the $500/month for a family instead if the 1500+/month now.

Frustrated by reboot-happy Windows 10? Creators Update hopes to take away the pain
Dysfunctional Micro$oft
This is one of the reasons I left M$ os's and went to linux. I am a life long windows user and have not agreed with the OS moves since windows 7. I had 2 VMs runnung on my Win 10 box when M$ decided to reboot, these VMs did not come back, corrupted much processing data lost. This combined with M$ efforts into Linux made me jump ship. Why run Linux on windows, just get the real thing so thats what i did. Linux Mint since the 1st of the year it just works, and no more M$ dysfunctional thinking for me.

SHOW ME THE MONEY! Ballmer on Amazon: 'They're not a real biz, they make NO cash'
Missed the point
Unlike Microsoft that Balmer was well on his way to ruining. Amazon has been brilliant in their use of cash. They have been able to generate billions, yet managed to keep any profit off the books. Taxes the pay are nil. Try that Microsoft it is a very delicate balance to achieve and Amazon has become quite expert at it.
