Das ist empörend: Microsoft slams umlaut for email depth charge

MSLiermann

Re: Please!

"Leck mich am Arsch" would be more correct - "Küss meinen Arsch" is a literal translation, but it's not something a German would say.

Systemd adds filesystem mount tool

Re: it's already bad enough with dbus...

@AC:

"Well then, you're not the typical user. The typical user expects to be able to access the card from the moment they stick it in."

The typical Linux user runs servers, and most of what systemd does is of benefit to desktop users, hence irrelevant for most actual real-world requirements.

Judge rules FBI can hack any time, any, place, anywhere

Re: Pascal Monet So the FBI has the right to hack the world

Bryant, you really *are* nothing but a shill for the surveillance state. Go away.

MSLiermann

If child pornographers didn't exist, I'm certain the surveillance state would find it necessary to invent them, given how useful they are for justifying their spying.

So you’d sod off to China to escape the EU, Google? Really?

MSLiermann

Re: Learn to Read

No idea how stamping on Google's dick until they start paying taxes and stop serially violating their users' privacy will somehow prevent code being written in Europe. Believe it or not, people were writing code (and - gasp! - using the internet to do it) before Google came about.

iPhone case uses phone's OWN SIGNAL to charge it (forever, presumably)

"The laws of physics aren't laws. They're really the limits to physics.

Limits imposed by our collective lack of imagination"

I have a good imagination, but I can't imagine a universe where this statement is anything other than 100% bullshit.

WHAT did GOOGLE do SO WRONG to get a slapping from the EU?

An article by Andrew Orlowski carrying water for a megacorporation...as surprising as a fart after a Mexican dinner, and about as welcome in polite society, too.

Microsoft points at Skype, Lync: You two, in my office – right now

Re: Yeah, it's great but...

<<"Actually you cannot (keep control of your data).>>

Maybe *you* can't. I can do outbound packet inspection at the perimeter of my network if I'm nervous about that possibility.

A gold MacBook with just ONE USB port? Apple, you're DRUNK

MSLiermann

Re: 1 USB port? Seriously?

@jai:

"or get a macbook pro."

Or one could just say no to overpriced, underpowered, Fisher-Price fuckware entirely and buy a real computer, made by a company that understands that occasionally their customers might want to do real work.

Post-pub nosh neckfiller: Hot Spanish tongue action

MSLiermann

Re: "Fry tongue to seal"

I cook tongue fairly often, as the kids like it, and have yet to had one fall apart while cooking, and I never fry to seal. Are you perhaps boiling very vigorously?

'YOUTUBE is EVIL': Somebody had a tape running, Google...

Re: The new man

If any serious alternative to Youtube gains traction, Google will simply buy them out or otherwise sink them. Google needs to be hit with US anti-trust law and broken up, much like AT&T was.

Marky Mark & the techie bunch: We love you, China. Can Facebook 'n' Apple come over?

MSLiermann

Re: Socialism with Chinese characteristics

Basically, yes. But that alse describes the US and Silicon Valley models nicely, so it's a natural fit.

London police chief: City bankers, prepare for a terrorist cyber attack. Again

Does being as stupid as you are actually hurt?

UNIX greybeards threaten Debian fork over systemd plan

Re: Such hatred

Funny; I've been administering Linux servers for over a decade and never had issues reading, writing, using, or understanding SysV init scripts. The complexity of SysV init scripts is very much overstated by the systemd advocates, who of course benefit from that perception.
