Ummm? Artificial Gravity?
It's obvious that some kind of artificial gravity will be a part of any long term space missions. How they achieve this, well, that'll be the interesting part.

like how much information the spies already have on each one of the 11 voter's, to kill our privacy? I can't help but think, that they are massively ignorant, and or being blackmailed. It wouldn't take much of a threat to give these spineless critters a chill. Just some veiled innuendo.
Great story! Reminds me if a friend who showed his boss not to mess with his betters.
Picture, boss goes to open door to personal car, to go home for the day,the handle, it's the horizontal flip type, now packed full of Axel Grease. Boss notices rag conveniently left on ground, so wipes hands, and door handle, being a slob, throws rag back on ground. Gets into car, grabs ANOTHER Grease Filled handle on the inside. Steam rising off said boss, gets out of car, uses the same rag to clean up AGAIN, and said rag has pretty well had it by now, so, boss gets BACK into car, starts car, and grabs GREASE filled steering wheel, finally looses it, now pounding on steering wheel, near tears!!!
Meanwhile, said employee watches the whole thing covertly (-;
If Kaspersky was playing fair, then where are all its discoveries of Russian Malware?
I've researched this issue several times in the past. And I have never found one single time where Kaspersky broke the news about Russian Malware. They have always written about it after the fact, as others have been the ones to make these disclosures. So, I don't see why people are defending them, unless, they just hate the US that much. Which, most only show their hypocrisy, and lack of self-awareness. All I'm saying is, that Kaspersky lacks a certain credibility in this struggle between two countries. And that alone, is cause for concerns.
Now, if Kaspersky were located outside either country, or reported on Russia as much as US intelligence works, then, he might have saved himself from the wrath of those he tattled on. Did he think it smart to expose US Intel publically, without privately disclosing first, what he discovered? Isn't that how it usually is done with others?
And escalation is only going to make it harder to detect these Intel intrusions. Because, they will be forced to up their game out of necessity.
I've been using 57 on Android for weeks now, and am encouraged by the results so far. I'm not having issues with updated extensions I like, or found great alternatives. My point is, ITS STILL BETA! As of today, and has 6 weeks yet to smooth out the wrinkles. I've used 55 concurrently, and I have definitely noticed the increase of speed. So, as a fan, I'm inclined to give them the benefit of doubt.
With that said, I use multiple browsers, just because, none are perfect. But Firefox is definitely my primary used.
There's more to this deal than is being currently reported. It's the entry into manufacturing that meets Google's ultimate plans. Designed & Manufactured with HTC's help.
Plus, it pulls HTC's tit out of the ringer. Which, as an HTC customer, I'm quite happy about. Hopefully, this new partnership benefits consumers as much, or more.
Since the attack on CCleaner happened only a few weeks after Avast finalized the sale, I think that click-bait titles I've seen, are just a bit unfair. From what I read, it looks like CCleaner was the only one signing Certs for their own products, which is still a stand-alone company "owned by Avast" and likely one of their own employees was hacked to make this attack happen.
Softbank is lining up all the pieces to exponential growth in all things mibile. I expect big things from them over the next few tears. Sprint is only one part of that plan. But, as a customer for well over 15 years, I've never had any real issues to complain about. I'm always amazed at the Sprint haters though. But, mostly only show their ignorance about which carriers have better coverage in their area. I've also had a plan that virtually guarantees me free roaming anytime I needed it. That includes data roaming too. Again, people just don't do their homework.
No, a thousand times NO! This whole "Fake News" thing was made up of whole cloth right after the election as a way of controlling information. Censorship. Plain and simple. It boils down to the fact that the majority are not under the Leftist, and Media's control anymore, and that's a danger to their plans. So, "Fake News", "Hate Speech" "Racism", etc, etc, etc, are all attacks on the fundamental rights of Citizens in the US and other democracies. It's all about trying to control people, and even their thoughts, by creating a chilling effect on any who would disagree. But, be warned leftards, it will come back and bite you too. Because it's plain to normal folks, just who the real threats are.
Yaaaaa? Right? If I made a list of failed women executives, and world leaders, I think the percentage would be rather high. And before some Commentards say, "more men, more failings" I'm talking PERCENTAGE of groups here. I don't know about you guys, but I get enough grief from the one woman at home. I certainly wouldn't take it at work. This is an example of political correctness writ large. And the resulting wasted tax payer money is always the end result.
A talk given at this year's Blackhat USA has some solutions to this issue. Here is a PDF download link from the Blackhat website for the white paper.

Anyone who thinks they are safe because the security community is making too much about vulnerabilities, is just plain foolish. Anyone who wants to harden their device, or software like browsers, is a practical person. They appreciate the hard work of infosec researchers. So, even if a device is a bit older, they can be proactive about securing those devices. It's not all doom, but many articles on how to stay safer too. Noise? I think NOT !
If you want an indepth look at all the ad-ons, like advertising SDK's, developer tools, and every single permission an Apk has, then this Android app can help. Besides scanning every apk.downloaded, or updated, on the device in real time, it gives definitions for just about everything an app has in it. The pop-up notice let's you examine the app before opening it.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation will be writing a series on Censorship, and the first installment from the other day can be found here: Free Speech, EFF
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2017/08/fighting-neo-nazis-future-free-expression
It's amazing just how dense people are, that can't recognize the real threat. The vast majority of nasty comments here are from dedicated leftist. And they fail to see the dangers of promoting censorship. And when they lose the right to post anything, there will be NO WAY to be heard in anything!
The media continues the propaganda acting as thought police, advocating violence only for their side. When the police state arrives, perhaps then they'll be satisfied? No, censorship will be against all concerned. Dangerous precedents are being set now and will bite everyone in the end. The Electronic Frontier Foundation wrote about it the other day
Free Speech, EFF
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2017/08/fighting-neo-nazis-future-free-expression
All this crap in the media, and the reactions of the tech giants only further proves the assertions of the Google Memo author.
Amazing how many Commentards advocate for censorship one moment, and decry it the next. Talk about hypocrisy. Too stupid to see that they are advocating for a police state to come in and run their lives. Botching about Google, Facebook one moment, and cheering them the next. Well, let me tell you all something, most of YOUR hate comments will be censored in the not too distant future, and THEN, ...What will you do? Nothing I tell you, because by then, it will be WAY TOO LATE!
Well, I see that the Commentards are back in full force. But, millions of people have come to depend on the service, I for one. Over the last year and a half, I have been a regular user, the service has never let me down, not once. I live in a suburban location in the US, and bus service is a joke. Ever try grocery shopping while using bus service? Can't load the trunk on those things, now can you?
The drivers for Uber, are some of the nicest people you could ever want to meet. They work hard, and I appreciate that hard work by tipping from the very beginning of using the service. Those of you who knock Uber should stop it. Real people's lives are involved here, not just the corporate ones. I suspect that it's the Commentards who are the real villains.
When they'd businesses clean up their act and take responsibility for the crapware they peddle, then things will improve. Until they care held responsible for the phishing, malware, and fake advertising they allow throughout their networks, then it will remain a fight. If publishers want to load more ads then content, then the fight is on. Until they get the message, the fight is on. The hypocrisy is stomach churning coming from these despicable lowlifes.
Actually quite amazing, and my hats off to the majority, who clearly understand the issue's at hand. Usually, I'm quite disappointed reading the comments. But on this, I'm just stunned. Clearly, McCarthy and the elreg team in general, just fail, and BIGGLY ( - ; LOL But, it's their business to either succeed, or fail at. I would just say, I read many comments who expressed displeasure about this article, questioning whether it actually belonged here. I have to agree, it doesn't. McCarthy is a troll, plain and simple. His responses to many here in the forum clearly demonstrated his immature attitude, as a petulant child would act out. Worse, he dishonors his employer, and their customers.
OH PLEASE ! Cut it out! That's classic projection you just exhibited right there. The vast majority of readers here are pretty much in agreement, that it's YOU at elreg who are clearly not getting it. But do persist in your delusional fantasy. I remind you though, it's not a healthy thing for an organization to politicize it's business. Remember my example? Just look at ESPN as they flame out.
You still don't get it, do you C. McCarthy and elreg are having there collective A$$ handed to them, yet you defend the indefensible. I emailed elreg early this week, and I believe you are the one who responded to my charge that elreg, had some of the same problems that are spelled out in the memo. A cultural problem. You defended name calling as justifiable, in your opinion. Now, tell me, how many comments are supporting your side of this issue? Very few that I've seen so far, and the more you ignore the problem, the worse it'll get. This article is another straw, in an overloaded basket. Your organization is headed toward that "mono culture" mentioned in the memo. Out of all the great stuff from Blackhat and Defcon, this is the best elreg can produce? That's just SAD !
You are some kind of special SNOWFLAKE, aren't you? You prove everything that's wrong with Silicon Valley, and leftist progtards all at once. Your constant name calling is NOT professional, but only gets laughs from the rest of your group, who lack any self-awareness what so ever. It's clear that the vast majority of people have a different view on this issue, and even here you're vastly outnumbered. It's your lack of intelligence that you are unable to see the obvious intent of the memo author. But I already knew that about you from your other, thoughtless pieces here. We are laughing at you, not with you coward.
My sentiments exactly GrumpenKraut ! I searched hi and low, for any honesty in the press, and tech Journal's specifically, and after two days, finally found this piece at The Atlantic. It takes the media to the woodshed in a grand way, calling out their hypocrisy to boot. Hope you enjoy this,as I know I'll enjoy the link you shared.
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/08/the-most-common-error-in-coverage-of-the-google-memo/536181/
EXACTLY!!!! I wrote to elreg late Sunday, and mentioned that they TOO had a similar problem, though not as bad as all the other tech journo"s. But, the resident TROLL McCarthy, who seems only able to name call, hurl insults, instead of reasonable arguments, only demonstrated his own lack of intelligence, and most importantly, SELF-AWARENESS. A virtue the progressive leftist seem to have in abundance. I specifically called out the fact that this author makes elreg look, and sound bad, but, whoever C.is, (I think it stands for COWARD)? Only sought to justify said name calling. It's unprofessional, and childish to say the least, at least in a professional publication, NOT a tabloid. And finally, I'm surprised at the support for the memo author here in the comments. I really think the majority get it. Which, is completely bassAckwards. At least in my previous observations over the last three years.
And here I expected the Howler Monkeys to reinforce the band of Flying Monkeys today.
I'm stunned that the SJW ideologue's have pulled a fantastic reversal of themselves and all without injury. I mean, how can people twist themselves into pretzel shapes, and not be damaged. Well, it must be that not many, ACTUALLY read the ten page memo. After all, that take's concentrating, comprehension and other feats of mental prowess, for which many severely lack. Normally, if I were in a good mood, I'd give the benefit of the doubt to them, but, I've witnessed their cruelty too many times before. So, perhaps, those in the know,.....know just how puzzled I am at today's comments. Hmmmm?
Hey John,
Notice elreg left out the fact that the guy begging for money got caught with his slong in a strange pocket. Hence the divorce! And apparently the ex-wife has the last laugh! But, the leftist don't want you to know about their moral failings, do they? After all, elreg says, who are we to judge?
Huh? Facts in evidence, conveniently left out. So, it's doubtful the big techies want to be associated with this scandal.
Can anyone name just one woman as a tech CEO who has been even moderately successful? All the most recent woman as leaders of countries like South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, have had disastrous tenures. Come on SJW, name one, and please strain a bit to offer some bonified evidence to back up your claims.
No one will take this as a serious threat to the defendants. Leaving Google band Samy out only proves something is wrong ether with the suit, or the story hear got it wrong. The location technology is only common sense application and universal. And why did it take the plaintive SO MANY YEARS to suddenly notice this joke infringement? EFF has been working years against just this kind of abuse and the court picked needs to be sanctioned for its part. The law needs to change in regard to Cherry Picking Jurisdiction. Amongst many others concerning patents.
Good grief, only a handful of insightful people here can read through the Bull Shit Story being spewed by a pack of liars without ONE PIECE of Evidence! What kind of mush for brains idiots let these people speak at the convention. Don't these stories belong in the supermarket tabloid, Hmm? Elreg??? Here I got a story for you, based on nothing, with not one piece of evidence, but my own fevered imagination. Are you interested ? It's about ________ fill in the blank from local tabloid.
I agree, and I almost bought the U 11 the other day too. I think I'll wait a bit longer and do some research on other brands, namely Pixel. But.... I've read a number of threads by disgruntled customers. Seems google has a persistent problem with the new back ups. Not all is working as advertised. And the natives are getting restless after broken promises of a fix. They aren't thrilled with having to use other third party apps to backup call logs and SMS either. And another BUT,.... I can NOT stand Samsung, especially "cheese Wiz" and would need to do some major customization. I'm not wild about the Chinese offerings, for very good reasons, too numerous to list here. So what's that leave me with? Oh, and if Pixel go to LG, for the next build, well they are definitely out. I was offered a new LG V 20 for $120 with a free TV tossed in. But after reading the horrible reviews, and the crappy battery life, I decided against suffering for two years with a lemon for a phone. No Thanks.
Hi,
If you liked the old Sense keyboard from the one series, it's available in Playstore. Here is the link. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.sense.ime or do a search for HTC sense input. I have used this keyboard since HTC EVO 4g lte, and the biggest feature for me is the navigation arrows on the bottom that are enabled in the app settings. Great for fat fingers editing, if you know what I mean?
Why is it that only after suffering a devastating attack do all these unfortunate companies THEN implement all kinds of NEW Security protocols? In light of the massive amount of malware attacks, should not these companies, all of them, not be reviewing how best to beef up Security? Instead of making week apologies later?
To those who really care to help fight against backdoors.

When we signed up for an online account for Social Security, the program asked us tons of personal questions, of which they already k new the answers to. Like what kind of car we owned TEN years before. What Credit Cards and expiration dates, previous addresses going back decades, etc, etc, etc. Finally after nearly an hour of these questions, I only completed one sign up. I mean Yikes, they had it all, and if you messed up, the program said so.
Here are a few from last year. The first is about Android options, and the article I referenced above.
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/01/28/vpn_on_android_means_voyeuristic_peeper_network/
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/10/25/avira_debuts_freebie_vpn/
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/09/20/opera_desktop_browser_vpn/
This one concerns desktop, and laptop. Specific to business I think.
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/02/26/ssl_vpns_survey/
Now, there are lots of other reviews out there, but do your homework folks, it's a jungle.
The Guardian Project ( https://guardianproject.info/apps/ ) has multitudes of apps for Android devices. You might not cover everything, but can certainly go a long ways toward blunting your ISP. And don't forget about adblocker that work globally on Android devices. They are a VPN that filters your traffic, and so, if you need to pay a subscription, why not get more bang for your buck? Two well known options are Disconnect and Adgaurd. They have options for all platforms. And then there are more than those, just do a search.
Now, one comment suggested that elreg should do a write-up on VPN services, but they did last year. A very comprehensive review of many of the top VPN's, but be warned, the reviews were not very flattering because of various bad practices by said VPN's.
Hi all,
Read this article by Bruce Schneier about "Track Me Not" and have a good laugh. He makes many common sense statements why this won't work.
https://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2006/08/trackmenot_1.html
Now, they may have made numerous improvements over the years, but much of what is in the article still applies.
Here is the about page of the very well known, and we'll respected, person, Troy Hunt, who runs the "Have I Been Pwned" website. https://www.troyhunt.com/about/
And he does tons more for the infosec community. Not to mention, his personal blogs are always a good read.https://www.troyhunt.com/ So, while you are there, maybe you could say thanks.
Tavis Ormandy has made it a habit of auditing Password Managers and Anti-Virus software. But lots of others have discovered flaws in both over the years. However, Keepass Password Manager had a major Code Audit last year, and this was for Free, Open Source software. If you are thinking about a move, Keepass can import from over 30 other Password vendors. Here is homepage:
http://keepass.info/ They are available for all major platforms, but the best one for Android is this app on playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=keepass2android.keepass2android
Keepass is one of the very few who incorporated a built-in keyboard for better safety on Android. No need to use clipboard which is not secure.
Keepass is Free, and Open Source. http://keepass.info/
Available for all major platforms. For Android, this is the best option:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=keepass2android.keepass2android
It has built-in keyboard so no need to use clipboard, which is insecure.
And you can opt to have no internet connection, or if you prefer, syncing to Cloud storage.
