Re: The ribbon

I don't like the ribbon, but your point is well taken.

Microsoft resumes rollout of Windows 11 24H2 to Insiders

Only a very temporary pause, it will still be coming. They're clearly in desperate need for a problem that "AI PCs" can solve so they can drive new PC sales (and license sales with it) and this is the only thing they could come up with, so it is going to be happening.

Google Chrome's HTTPS ban-hammer drops on WoSign, StartCom in two months

Yukkuri

But they're still up?

Yet both WoSign and StartCom still seem to be selling certs, if their sites are any indication. I am confused. Do they expect to somehow still turn this around? Are they just going to grab as much money as they still can before collapsing even if they know their certs are soon to be useless in Chrome (and already are in other browsers if I read stories about this right?)

I guess even in a "communist" country capitalism has the same perverse logic.

Oracle's old hands are supporting the support n00bs who support you

"US support engineers are now expected to assist new colleagues in Lehi, Romania and India "

That feeling when you realize that implies that your home state is not part of the USA...

IT blokes: would you say that lewd comment to a man? Then don't say it to a woman

Yukkuri

As a man I never cease to be appalled at how men behave toward women. How did any of these dudes think this kind of thing is okay?
