Hey windows-is-one-big-security-hole types, tell me again how your droid/iPhone/Mac/Linux box is infallible and virus free computing swiss army knife while my windows laptop is probably already infected. Oh, that's right, you're probably already infected. While you're telling me how wrong I am, some cyber criminal in ch-ussia-baltic-indi-stan-erica is enjoying your rant no less than they are mine. And yes, I'm typing this on my droid tablet while playing a video on my windows laptop with an iPhone in my pocket and a Ubuntu box in the bedroom.
Us people who don't share your religious devotion to a platform know that relying on an OS for security is idiotic, anything connected to a network can be hacked, and platform agnosticism is the only way to go. You spread your risk as wide as possible and hope the device you're currently on is statistically likely to be safe.
So, you have an encrypted, antivirus-protected NAS box as your network hub? Well then, what OS does it run? You're either naïve or delusional if you believe that the company builds its own when it doesn't have to, your box is unix-like. With that out of the way, what of (apple/microsoft) forcing UIs you don't like down your throat? Well, here's a list for you: windows 8, iOS 7, Android 4.0, Unity, Gnome 3, shall I go on?
The point is, when your OS is your religion your security suffers. This article is no better than it's comments.
