Security officers have no official jurisdiction outside of the premises they are supposed to 'protect'. As they were on a traffic island well outside the port I think the two newbies who were hassling the hapless snapper missed that part of their 'training'.

Maybe they failed the exam to become Parking Attendants?

'Small' correction; 2014 US Homicide rate was 4.5 per 100,000. Way less than even 1960. The 10.64 figure you quote is an exaggeration of the peak figure of 10.2 - 9 per 100,000 from 1980 - 1994 since when it has been in steep decline.

Anyone who owned a cheap car from the 1970's and 80's can remember the horror of plastic upholstery. On even a moderately warm day, a short drive resulted in your bum sticking to the seat. Getting out could even be painful as you left a layer of your upper dermis welded to the seat. They also stank.

Leather is tough (lasts longer than even the toughest cloth) and is porous. Which means no self adhering buttocks. Hey, but let the vegans have their way, it will mean the end of Tesla. Electric cars are a technological dead end anyway.
