Re: What did the Roman's ever do for us?
The Roman's. That's Chelsea FC isn't it?

I have had exactly the same argument with a representative of a large investment company with whom I have an account after he called me and then wanted me to establish my identity. Neither of us could prove convincingly who we were without revealing important details. In the end, we agreed that he would send me a letter which did indeed arrive.
My PhD thesis contained many mentions of cobalt carbonyl, Co2(CO)8 (don't know how to do subscripts here) and numerous others with combinations of capital C + lower case o and Capital C + capital O. In those far-off days, one hired a typist to do a professional job. Lots of fun was had proofreading the first draft of the typed version.
Any big change in the type of vehicle requires care initially. I used to find problems with the relative responsiveness of my car immediately after driving a fully loaded minibus for a couple of hours. I am sure that the same applies to drivers of all heavy commercial vehicles.
I wonder if anyone else saw the story in last Saturday's Times about the Welsh rugby team on their flight to Australia some time in the 1970s. The captain persuaded his hooker (after all others had failed) to move out of first class back into economy where he was supposed to be sitting. It seems he told him that "the first class section isn't going to Australia."
I can't see what all the fuss is about. It's a car. I have googled images of the Nissan Juke and, as far as I can gather, it has four wheels, an engine and brakes so it will take you where you want to go and stop when you get there. What more do you need?
I had a long debate about just that with a man who said he was from a company with which I have a couple of investments. He did not see the illogicality of asking me for identification details when he had actually called me and I would not accept that he was who he said he was without some identification from him. In the end, I received a letter which was genuine but I still do not accept calls from them.
I seem to recall an explanation (perhaps even in this venerable organ, I cannot recall exactly where) that that statement actually means that you could find at least one computer running Windows XP in 90% of NHS hospitals. Not quite the same thing but that's the press for you.
Your argument ignores the idea of supply and demand. At present only a small proportion of property is available for rent through Airbnb. If everyone tried to let their home, there would probably be a huge oversupply and asking the high prices currently being asked would no longer be sustainable.
Wow - "foeti". That's one plural I have never seen.
Interestingly (to me, anyway), my Chambers Dictionary gives no guidance on the plural but does say, rather sniffily, that "foetus is the usual but etymologically unsatisfactory form of fetus". So fetus isn't a phonetic Americanism.
