Re: News angle?

The only way this is true is if you have infrastructure that only works properly for windows users, and there are significant stats from IBM to back this up:

http://uk.businessinsider.com/apple-macbook-needs-help-desk-less-windows-pc-ibm-2015-10?r=US&IR=T

"Only 5% of IBM employees with MacBooks need help desk support from the IT department, versus 40% of PC users."

"IBM is supporting over 130,000 combined iPhone, iPad, and MacBook users with just 24 dedicated help desk staff."

Sorry, but compared to this data, you're just noise ;p

Re: But 3G does work

The article stated there was no GSM in Japan. Seems like a crap excuse.

But 3G does work

I'd imagine that as my k800i, launched in 2006, worked perfectly in Japan, they could manage to include that technology in this device, 8 years later?

Are DisplayPort adaptors reversible?

If you were using a displayport to hdmi adaptor designed to convert a displayport output for an hdmi monitor, I'm not hugely surprised it didn't work the other way around.

I haven't had an alarm triggered by toast for 10 years

It's really simple, there are different types of alarm, which should be used in appropriate places.

Heat - Often more expensive, does not detect smoke particles. Place in kitchen.

Optical - Detect slow smouldering fires well (not toast). Often more expensive. Place in hallway.

Ionisation - Cheap, very sensitive (toast). Place in other living areas and bedrooms.

Unless you're making toast in your bedroom...
