First cardboard goggles, now this: Google's cardboard 'DIY AI' box powered by an RPi 3

Picked mine up from WH Smith this morning. Plenty in stock in there. Just have to look. Given their size, the shops can't put too many on the shelves so ask behind the counter.

YouTube TV will be huge. Apple must respond

UK based so not affecting us yet but....

Will be interesting to see how Youtube TV works out with getting sports rights. They have the financial clout to get the Premier League / Champions League in a few years time when they come up for renewal, and that could give them the impetus to grow in the UK at least.

Raspberry Pi Foundation releases operating system for PCs, Macs

Re: Is it an OS ?

Because as the article says, a lot of PI's are used in schools and given that children will be able to use the OS on the PI in school and then use it at home on their hardware of choice means that learning and take up will go up. Education .. it's a good thing

Disney aims for Netflix. If the deal was made, it would shoot itself in the foot

Disney should continue to expand and grow DisneyLife. Not a bad product at all, and currently gives me what I require with access to most of the Disney empire (as well as 10% discount in Disney Store) it's perfect when I have 2 young kids.

Sinclair’s 1984 big shot at business: The QL is 30 years old

<enter text here>

I have fond memories of the QL, I went through a few of them having been introduced to them by my grandfather. He had a stack of 5 or 6 of them and was forever getting upgrades to them Goldcards etc.

This is what got me interested in computing when I was a child in the 80's

I remember the little microdrives, loading Psion's suite, and getting the game programming book and typing out lines of code to run tiny little games.

I probably still have a stack of microdrives and the odd QL sitting in the attic (possibly with the old Commadore 16 + 4 which we also had)
