Good to know there's still zero reasons to switch from the predictable, slowly but sensibly evolving user experience provided by my rock-solid MacBook.
Wonder if Cortana (who came up with that one BTW?) will reply as cutely as Siri when asked "Hey Siri, talk dirty to me"
Every time I see another semi-embedded system running on a MS OS, I have to ask myself "what can these people have been thinking?"
Each time my car infotainment system crashes; each time I see yet another airport flight display with a DOS prompt on it; each time I see a cashier at a checkout rebooting their Windows system just so I can check out;
Hard to understand the rationale behind such thinking.
Apple just need to roll out their old Windows geek vs. cool Apple dude, to put this latest flaccid MS marketing attempt in it's place.
Who actually comes up with these lame names? Time to hire an advertising agency that isn't run by old white guys who think a BlackBerry is the last word in coolness.
Isn't this whole argument moot? Every government or corporation that is interested in you already has reams of data about you. Locking everything down might help with the privacy of as yet unborn children, but for the rest of us, it's far too late.
Even if your elected, 'democratic' government was not deeply complicit in this situation, there's no way that all the money behind the lobbyists/bribers would let them pass meaningful legislation to protect you.
Best to accept the fact that you're screwed already, and move on.
This, from the company that still struggles to get single-sign on right in its abysmal, hideous customer web sites, and takes a month to issue a (paper) receipt for a OPN subscription.
Unless you're a 'nobody ever got fired for buying IBM' government/big corporation IT dinosaur, there's not much reason to cough up huge amounts of money on an annual basis for what is basically a commodity these days -- safe and secure of transactional data.
If I want cloud services, I'll go to a supplier that is (a) actually, demonstrably good at it (b) will minimize lock-in (c) hasn't turned an entire generation of techies against it with their rapacious sales policies, crap service, and overpriced legacy products. In other words, even with their warts, the competition have one big thing going for them -- they're not Oracle.

Anyone who's lived through Microsoft licensing hell will surely be motivated to make their life less painful and avoid dealing with them unless ordered to by some pointy-haired boss.
It's not enough that only about three people in the world actually understand Microsoft licensing (and they're all lawyers in Redmond), but every time you think you've got your head around the model and won't get screwed by the next MS license audit, they go and change the rules and send you back to square one.
Who needs this crap -- just go FOSS and focus on solving real problems and not ones manufactured by evil lawyers.
