2000 dpi glossy mags

I've heard that high quality glossy magazines print at 2000 dpi (CMYK printing, of course). Pixels are just one part of the mix. Let's see if "highest resolution phone" turns into "most beautiful, readable screen display" or not.

Measurement Error, guys

At best these are very scientifically calculated estimates based a sample of machines, not by measuring every machine in the world. If we new the sample size and/or measurement methods we could get the measurement error, likely to be more than 0.5%

Anyway, if Microsoft had any real sense they would just branch off XP. It makes sense. First we had Windows-NT ("New Technology") now we can have Windows-OT ("Old Technology")!

Gratuitous flattness

Ahh, fashion. Since gratuitous 3D effects have come and gone once again, now Apple is trying out the new gratuitous flat button effect. It's ugly enough that it may be deliberately ugly -- "let's excite people with a new but shocking look, then fix it later with iOS 7.1. That will put Windows 8.1 in it's place!" Or is my imagination way off base?
