50 percent of cars become uneconomical after eight years use and / or the overcomplicated electrics make them unrunnable long before. Any eco waffle manufacturers give is total BS. Give me a 1990s Toyota any day.
(I understand this isn't of any relevance to a pimped up posh assholes' car like the one in the review, but it could be written as a comment to any over-electrified modern car review. )
Writing this on a 6 year-old MacBook Pro that still whizz's along and with a battery that still holds charge. Got a PC laptop that'll make it that far without being rebuilt at least twice?
There's always been a lot more to tech than processor speeds, and most people just want the damn things to work which is where - most of the time - Apple wins.
Smart meters are no doubt a waste of cash...
... then again, so was getting rid of those coal mines in the 80s... and privatising our energy needs full stop.
Don't make us look too closely, mister Tory... we all know that nationalised utilities are what would benefit the public most, not more profit and target-driven crap.
