Why are you selling?
Stop selling without any notion of technology whatsoever. I do NFC payments on my Fitbit. Doesn't make sense on a phone. Cold. Dead. Fingers.

I appreciate stupidity for stupidity sake, but Edge is a much better browser. It doesn't replace Internet Explorer. It replaces Chrome. As Windows 10 is adopted more and more, Edge will own the market. Its just pacing itself. As for Chromium open source, Microsoft is embracing it, but as its open source nobody owns it and certainly not Google. So its best to just keep quiet about things you don't understand. I'm sure Microsoft is looking to create a chromium browser just like anyone else. Since Google is trying to hold it back from Windows 10 on Arm. Giving users options is the best way to ensure life is good for Windows.
I guess it depends on your definition of success. If success is selling more phone this year than last year, they've been successful since before the iPhone first came into being. Microsoft is stable, they've never been one for leaps and bounds. They put in the work. They are gimmicky or gadget makers.
Watch Flash of Genius and tell me what Google and the like wasn't EVIL. You guys are being ridiculous. Patents ARE INVENTIONS. And the smart people that invented things deserve to REAP the rewards. Nortel were a bunch of inventors! They continue with Rockstar. They made the world a better place and you best recognize that. Google ripped them off. And several other follow suit. God bless a justice system that can recognize that and force this type of settlement. Google should pay every dime they have to Rockstar. Its not just Android. Its their advertising business! It was invented and patented by Nortel. Google ripped it off and has made 100's of billions of dollars off that invention. You are a moron if you think Google is in the right here.
Microsoft does not have to answer to anyone. They don't need to post records. If the IDC wants to make estimates that's fine, but noone knows the real success but Microsoft. Thier actions state success, not failure. Thier stock states success, not failure. And being charitable to students has always been a cornerstone of Microsoft. Take Office Home and Student. Thank goodness too. Think of my tax dollars being spent for the lowest value per dollar spent Apple. I would hate that.
