The answer to 3D printing equipment on Mars might lie in the Red Planet's dust

"Sending anything to space is expensive. It cost NASA about $54,000 per kilogram just to get something into Earth's orbit using space shuttles,"

Have they brought the Space Shuttle back?

News to me.

Pedant alert.

I don't think that Bob Klose was ever actually in The Pink Floyd but he was in several pre Floyd acts.

He may have been in The Pink Floyd Sound but not The Pink Floyd and certainly never in Pink Floyd.

I don't know why bands drop the definite article.

It upsets me.

Surely the fact that this was announced on the same day the Darth Vader "died" is no coincidence.

I'm glad to see that you share the grief of the North.

I'll raise a glass to him tonight at the Hex Induction Hour.

Sorry for the irrelevant comment but some things are more important than tech.

Co-op Bank's users moan over online wobbles

Re: Banked with Smile for years

I'm also with Smile and Co-op electricity.

I've thought about moving banks but Smile has always been brilliant and is rightly held in high regard by its customers.

I do get bored with the rent boy stories.

The real reason the Co-op Bank got into trouble was due to bad debts being deliberately hidden in Brittanias books and this not being picked up by the auditors (PWC?).

I could be wrong about which accountants it was.

Anyway it wasn't the Co-op that brought about the collapse of the whole international banking system and it was the only bank that rescued itself without recourse to the public purse.

Anyway where else is decent with any sort of reasonable ethics TSB? Nationwide?

Those are the two that I'm thinking of.

Co-op electricity have been a nightmare, have improved, but are still very troublesome.

Mainly due to rubbish IT but they are getting better.

But Co-op Electricity is part of East Midlands Co-operative and NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CO-OP BANK.

In fact the Co-op Bank is no longer Co-operatively owned and should be renamed.

I just don't understand why carrying out checks to make sure that drivers are not a danger to passengers would be an extra charge.

Surely it's part of Uber's basic duty of care to their customers.

Sport

It doesn't say what type of Pigeons.

I don't kill for pleasure but there are plenty that do.

I'm only interested in receiving the bounty of other peoples sport for the table.

Wood Pigeon is one of the most delicious meats that you can eat but you only take the breast off and throw the rest away.

We once got given 150 birds that had been shot on a farm in Southport.

It took us all night to breast them and in the end we were knee deep in feathers and viscera, in the dark and wearing head torches.

We disposed of the carcasses responsibly but I'm guessing that somebody in Devon might have taken an easier route.

Yes indeed, at christmas I alway stock up on a variety of small fermented milk products such as Baby Bels because the most important thing at Christmas is to remember the little baby cheeses.

I'll get me coat.
