And the problem with ANY comment that is favorable to Kaspersky is that it could be Russians paid to back whatever Putin wants people to think. To paraphrase a famous quote: "on the internet no one can tell you are a dog (or a Russian (or Chinese) for that matter)". The problem with Russian (and Chinese) successes in cyber warfare against the West is that it brings doubt to EVERYTHING anyone says on the internet. Those using the internet can be divided into two camps; those who take what they read online at face value and those who now doubt the validity of anything they read. If the internet is a world group mind, at this stage, Russians (and other parties waging cyber warfare) are driving that group mind crazy.

What is more interesting is why you (and others) find Wesley Crusher upsetting and then (even more interesting) why you (and others) find it so difficult to clearly separate a role from the person who plays that role. Seriously. "Audience tormenting sadism"???? The "audience" clearly does not include a sizeable number of people who did not experience your anger. Since anger is rooted in fear, I'm wondering what particular fear evokes so much anger. Crusher was the only adolescent character that got any screen time, so maybe there is something that really bothers some people about seeing some version of themselves in the character. Just wondering. Jar-jar is a bumbling clown who is a plot foil. Not sure why clowns evoke so much fear and loathing. Bumbling clowns don't get much screen time in any media, so It is curious why what little time they get evokes so much feeling. Perhaps the character subtracts from the time the fan gets to identify with the mythical, swashbuckling role they are feeding off of. But I am sure there are other hypothetical sources of fear that are more acceptable to the angered fans.

I loved my HTC phones until.... They used a daughter board for the usb/charging port. Before I could upgrade my phone became virtually useless because the charging was so flaky. Having six months to go before my upgrade was available, I had the choice of taking out insurance and a 75$ fee or buying a new phone. It was bad enough that I'd be adding 78$+ to my phone's cost (13$ times 6) but the REAL killer was finding out that no one will repair these things. The repair shops won't touch them even though they advertise that they will (a sure sign the M8 was the end of the line for third party repairs). Finally, the add-on market for the HTC is essentially not there. iPhone and Samsung have miles of add-on displays but you have to go online for what little exists for HTC. My vendor is Sprint and they weren't all that helpful, wanting to do try everything before biting the bullet and replacing my phone ... for a 75$ fee. At best, the combination of HTC and Sprint could be the real problem, ... But my next phone will probably be a Samsung. I love Android.
