Yahoo! halts! email! forwarding! to! outside! email! addresses!

At least it stops the hackers setting invisible forwarders

Having had to clean up some hacked Yahoo accounts, I have previously found that there is a way of creating an email forwarder for the Yahoo account that is often not visible in the account settings. Maybe that's one of the bugs they're trying to un-develop.

The slow strangulation of telework in Australia

I agree with the sentiment but...

Statements that aren't factual don't help carry the argument:

"Almost every home broadband connection in this country uses some variation on DSL" - ignores nearly a million cable subscribers (http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/mf/8153.0/)

"The upper end of the [ADSL] range is somewhere around 1 Mbps" - doesn't take into account Annexe M provided by some ISPs that gives an upper end at 2Mbps.

New iPhones are latte-sipping inner city elitists

Just in case they stray out of range???

> Vulture South is sure that iPhone 5 buyers won't mind holding onto their iPhone 4 devices, just in case they stray out of range.

Huh? This would seem to imply that new iPhones are incapable of falling back to 3G or 2G when LTE is unavailable. I can't see anything in their specs that says that.

Yahoo! Oz! PAYS! Punters! Pittance! To! Search!

Monthly limit

When I first posted about this on FaceBook (23 Oct 2012) it was noted that there is monthly limit on the payout - 100 Flybuys points per month. It now even says 100 points "per household" and even further says "valid searches".

I said:

"Seriously? Use the Flybuys/Yahoo search tool so they can collect info about your everyday life (as well as your shopping) and they "pay" 0.5 points per search. The standard exchange rate is 200 points per dollar so that's 400 snippets of your life for $1!!! No thanks (and no embedded link)"
