Shakes on a plane: How dangerous is turbulence?

Phil Huff

That's not a video of turbulence...

They're trundling down the runway after safely landing - there's even an announcement from the cabin crew saying "Ladies and gentlemen, we have landed in Jakarta."

@ Adam Foxton

You want advance warning? They do appear to be giving people somewhere in the region of 77 days, or well in excess of two months.

I'd consider that fair warning...

Unless you've got a veeeeeeeeery slow internet connection, you should be ok. Just.

Paris Hilton

I've got one of these

No really, I do. I was sent it free to trial it.

Since using it in my SE phone for the last year or so, I've lost weight, got a new car and been on holiday to Las Vegas and Shanghai. There's no actual evidence that they could be linked to the battery, but it's got to be more than just coincidence.

@ Stefan Paetow

There are Boeing and/or Airbus fanboys? I sincerely hope you're wrong, but I fear you've got it correct.

As for Airbus and Boeing now knowing that building planes is not an easy task, one would have assumed that they knew that some years ago, or am I giving these companies too much credit?

Thumb Up

I'm not at all fussed...

...by who 'wins' this race, but I've never considered the Wii to be a competitor to the PS3 and Xbox. As far as I can see it's targeting an entirely different audience.

And doing that remarkably well, I might add.

Befuddled American

"Since when did Britain use miles per hour?"

Pretty much throughout the entire history of the country, or at least ever since miles were invented. We even measure fuel economy in miles per gallon.

Mind you, we buy our fuel in litres...

Dell trips over printer cable

Phil Huff

Why pick on Dell?

Because the ASA only respond to complaints. I'd guess nobody has bothered complaining about Canon, HP, et al.
