3 Windows 7 machines and one Windows 8, 2 of the W7 systems were fine after patches had been installed (Had to install one patch twice on 1 of them as the anti virus threw a fit on 1st install so I had to turn it off for the patch to succeed), Windows 8 system fine but 1 of the W7 systems did the reboot after the patches then failed to configure windows 5 times before it went finally went through.IMO this is not acceptable behaviour. Still i managed to kill one of my linux VMs too doing updates.
One of the DYAC sites has a screenshot of Siri having been asked where to hide a body and the suggestions it comes up with and this is the link to the shot:

So it is entirely possible a friend sent him a link on Facebook to view. It may even be the same link he viewed.
I have to be honest, Since the Digital switch over I have stopped watching T.V. I found the massive increase in advertising unbearable, the increase in landfill programs that I wouldn`t be interested in the 1st time round let alone the 30th have completely put me off. It really is a case of more channels = less choice. I have virgin broadband and T.V, My mother has Freesat (she like cookery programs). I haven`t turned on the T.V to watch it now in years. it is much better for me to download what I want to watch and some kind person has removed the ads. The only time my set is on now is when my nephew comes over with his Xbox. T.V in UK is rapidly becoming like America T.V 90% ads 10% programs of which perhaps 1% interest me.Broadcast T.V. is dead, they just don`t realise it yet as the message is taking so long to get from the brain in the tail to the brain in the head.
Up in loft I have several (more than 4) Spectrums (Spectra?) ranging from 48K+ to +3 via 128K+ and +2A. BBC Master 128k with twin 5.25 floppies, Sam Coupe 512k with twin 3.5" floppies. A 17" Toshiba CRT monitor (needs fettling) that took 2 people to get up there as it weighs more than my 28" CRT TV. Bags full of various cables, some graphics cards, sound cards, hard drives ranging from 100MB up. I am sure all of it will come in useful someday.
Sorry, I configured loads of machines for a large high street bookies chain, all were using Windows XP, you did need a key to disable the tamper alarm, and another to open the front and another to unlock the cage the actual PC was in. Access to the USB slots and hard drive was not possible without disabling the alarm, opening the case and unlocking the PC cage. hard drives were imaged off the machine, then installed and configured. USB was not disable as the cash reader was connected via USB, You also needed a PS/2 keyboard and mouse to set them up as USB keyboards and mice were not recognised.
When my one of my ancient XP systems died I bought a brand spanking new on that came with Windows 8. I had read all the hate aimed at it, and I did try TIFKAM and no, I did not get on with it. Being prepared, I installed classic shell and was so pleased at the improvement I then installed classic shell on my windows 7 laptop. My other 2 XP systems have just been upgraded to Windows 7 as it seems according to the W8 advisor that they wouldn`t run windows 8. To be honest O try to get the UI as much like Windows 98 as I can as for me that is the perfect UI (except W98 used to crash a lot).
I used to use Xandros Desktop 3 on one of my old systems which oddly is another OS that seems hated by both MS and Linux fanbois. I would still be using it if updates ere available for it. As for MS Office I haven`t used it since office 2000 (I did try office 2010 but waiting minutes for a document to open only to have it then stop responding was just too annoying.
I tried Zorin OS on another old XP machine I had which I liked, but it was a PITA refusing to see shared drives, my NAS and crashing while installing the printer. Put windows 7 on it and *shock horror* it just worked. Upgraded my last XP machine to Windows 7 last week with no problems apart from the lack of Outlook Express Thankfully Thunderbird works well and could import all my files and settings. Mozbackup works a treat for backing up and restoring bookmarks etc for Firefox too.
Yes I like Windows 8, it`s fast, stable quick to boot, No I don`t like Metro. *rant over*
When they scrape the Data anyway why are they using subpoenas for data they already have? To add a thin veneer of legitimacy? It used to be that "evidence" collected illegally (i.e. breaking and entering or an illegal wiretap) was inadmissible in court and could not be used as a basis to get a warrant to get said (or other) evidence, Now it seems that they get the evidence anyway they can then get a subpoena to make it legal . .
I seem to recall from a few years back about UK selling radio equipment to the Iraqi armed forces, with bugs built in so that during the 1st action against Iraq the Allies knew EXACTLY what the Iraqis were up to and credited it with saving many lives. Everyone is guilty these days, until proven innocent.
Perhaps we should all sign up for multiple email addresses from various providers then use them to sign up to every spam site around, log in once a week or so to delete them messages and maybe overload the system :) Substitute trigger words with innocuous ones such as cupcake (a very old trick) encrypt everything just to be annoying. Hopefully it will work like "Window" and cause so much noise as to make their efforts useless. After all the powers they have are more than adequate. I lie on my census as this is information gathering on a par with IBM in NAZI Germany, and we know how that went for certain groups,
You forgot the 70% totally inaccurate bollox that appears in the Daily Fail such as this article:
