Only one problem

It's a winphone. I'd definitely buy it if it was an Android phone. Seriously. But with windows on it, I'm not remotely interested.

I found the innovation!

"plus a flash with two LEDs – one cold, one warm – that can choose from 1,000 possible color temperatures to best match the environment" - that's the only bit that's an actual innovation that I can see.

So it's still too small, too expensive, and iOS is still too much like all the previous versions.

Pass.

nice but...

Will it still be too small? Have an outdated, basic, yet oddly frustrating to use UI? Lack of any useful settings or configuration options? Lack the ability to easily see what hardware elements are enabled (and eating therefore battery)?

I bet it will.

You can talk hardware all you like. Put iOS on it and I'll never be interested, unless Apple actually do some innovating for once.

I read that twice as 'Squinto'.

The video shows it to be a much more sophisticated device than I'd thought it was from the article. Also, he has a really cool 'I'm an inventor'-looking workshop.

Good luck to him.

Except even the best batteries today only have the same energy density as a bar of chocolate, and I can't remember the last time a dairymilk exploded in my pocket.

Three's mobile data goes titsup in mysterious spreading outage

Started yesterday

Died in Glasgow City Centre at about 22:00 last night. Thought it might be a local mast thing but was still borked when I got home, and this morning, and now. It was patchy at first, but as the article states, it seems to be spreading to other masts, probably due to them trying to handle the extra load?

No

The only way anything like this will ever work will be if they manage to invent a low-power anti-gravity technology. Until then, it will be too expensive, too heavy, too powerful and too much can go wrong for it to be mass-market.
