Assange's day will come
Sooner or later he'll decide to leave and eventually he will be caught and prosecuted for his crimes, regardless of ill-informed public opinion by the clueless.

I'll bet the statistics don't account for occupations and activities of rural residents, which would again make city living far more dangerous. Daily auto accidents alone in city environments raise the risk of death or serious injury.
As far as the U.S. is concerned I doubt life is any wose there than in Blighty or other parts of Europe.
Die shrinks below 32nm have resulted in almost zero compute performance gains as Ivy bridge and Haswell confirm. The primary benefit to smaller die shrink is lower power consumption - but even with lower power consuption the transistor density creates serious cooling issues which require slower CPU frequencies or expensive cooling systems. The days of significant gains from die shrinks are long gone. AMD's 28nm Jaguar core CPUs are as good or better than Intel's 22nm chips as far as CPU performance per watt and overall power consumption is concerned.
Lotus F1 is just branding no matter how many Lotus you see in the parking lot. In fact there was litigation over this a few years ago. Lotus F1 is only Lotus in name.
That being said they do pretty well for a mid-budget team. Their chassis seems to be a fundamentally good design that is adaptable to most tracks. CFD is a catch 22 in that the results are only as good as the data input and the software. While Boeing is certainly an expert on airflow, the airflow on a vehicle traveling on the ground vs. in the air is considerably different.
The majority of people in the world are clueless. They have no idea that their very security has depended on national and world surveillance since the world wars. If these clueless masses had any idea of what the security people do to protect them from harm every day, they might understand the necessity to monitor all forms of communication. Alas, most people are simply too dumb to appreciate the efforts of their own governments and allies. It won't matter how much you try to educate them because they have no understanding of how the world really operates because others have protected them for decades.
AMD has definitely found new markets and products that are helping them rebuild in a very bad economic environment worldwide. That's impressive. A $29 millon quarterly loss on a billion dollars in sales is insignificant in the grand scheme of business. Some of the previous quarters AMD made good money but showed negative numbers because they purchased SeaMicro, bought out of exclusive CPU production with GloFo, etc.
Someone who doesn't understand the accounting - and there are many who fall into this category, falsely conclude that AMD has only experienced red ink in recent times, which is untrue. In addition SeaMicro will be bringing in nice revenue and developing new micro servers by Q4 of '13. It's good that AMD has made the painful transition but they seem well positioned going forward despite the naysayers.
I'd have no reservations flying on any current commercial aircraft. The 787 battery deal was a fluke and has now been over-engineered to compensate for what may have actually been a slight battery manufacturing issue. That of course won't stop the clueless media from hyping every incident from a bug hitting the windshield to an uncleaned seat pocket...
no matter if you use GAAP or non-GAAP, AMD is doing better in a very dismal economic environment worldwide. The one penny diff between GAAP and non-GAAP is meanless. What is important is that AMD's console contracts account for approx. 5 Million custom APUs over the next few years. It also sends a clear message that AMD's APUs are superior and the future as they are literally changing the PC landscape for the better and forever. Discrete CPU/GPU components will be a very limited market segment going forward in all market segments as APUs are superior in price, performance and energy consumption.
The only gains in a die shrink below 32nm is lower power consumption and package size. The increased transistor density however presents cooling challenges so all is not rosy. As far as computing performance, there is almost none to be gained as Intel has demonstrated with IB and Haswell.
Is any of this information about goverments in countries all around the world including Europe and the U.S. monitoring electronic communications and in some instances snail mail when there is legitimate reason to do so, some revelation for the populace? If so you've been living under a rock for the past 30+ years.
These cars can only race any distance as a hybrid not as a true EV. Audi has been doing well with their hybrid so Nissan figures they might as well cash in on the PR. The sales figure totals for all EVs combined is so insignificant as to be a joke. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand you need a really long power cable to drive these cars more than in the city.
This PR nonsense is for the gullible. How many people are going to spend 100K on an electric vehicle they can't use for anything but local city driving when they can buy a clean Diesel for half the price? Do you see any of these quick-charging stations on every route that you would normally desire to travel? Do you plan your travel so that you can stop every few hours to have the battery re-charged or a battery exchanged? Does this really make any sense to anyone except Elon?
A low cost EV might make sense for the city if you have good public transportation that you don't mind using for long distance travel but for the majority of people EVs are not even an option. It's laughable to think that electricity is free or that Tesla is going to provide free charges or battery exchanges. That's like expecting the oil companies to provide free petrol or diesel fuel. It ain't gonna happen in this lifetime. A diesel is a far more practical device for all commuting over an EV.
What goes around comes around. It doesn't matter what you opinion is of Manny or the military or the U.S. government. The fact is he illegal disclosed secret documents/information and he will be prosecuted like any other criminal who leaks secret information that has likely resulted in the dealths of many operatives working to protect the naive meatheads who have no clue how the world actually operates.
