Techies with Asperger's? Yes, we are a little different...

Great article

I have been diagnosed with Asperger's almost a year ago and i pretty much always ignored this, I simply did not want to hear it. This is the first article that actually interested me on this subject and it is great to see that there is someone on this world who, although he has Asperger's, is making the best of his life and is using his advantages as best as possible.

Since I have had the diagnosis my life has been pretty much going downwards for me, I saw no hope, partially because of me having Aspergers and i am in a group now to help deal with my autism, use it to the best effect and help me get ready for "the real world". This article inspired me and gave me a bit of hope again.

Windows 8 apps pass 100K, Windows 8 passes Vista

Wow 100.000 crappy apps!

Great that they have passed 100,000 apps. But most of them simply are stupid RSS readers of stupid artists which one can do much easier in a browser. That is pretty much all there is, stupid Media Players mostly copied from each other, stupid RSS readers and webpages in an app.

If we take out all this crap and filter out the actually good apps you come to 100 apps or something, if you're lucky

Seriously? Need for speed improved? I asume you havent tried the new Most Wanted. In which you just drive in an annoying way to beat someone else with a car you didnt earn but just found. It was the worst NFS ever, they really should stop making those games.

But back on topic. What did anyone expect? Did you really expect the great city building game they claimed it would be? It is EA, the game company that doesnt do much more than cash out franchises. They ruined pretty much any franchise they own.

The worst part is that EA gets away with it because they are so easily manipulable by PR and cant remember something that happened half a year ago. with the next <fill in a franchise name that isnt ruined, yet> the same will happen. "omg this is going to be the best game ever.", and then at launch "Wheehhhh EA you screwed us over wheehhhh I want my money back." And then EA will laugh at you from their offices replying; "NOPE"

Ah well, I have to admit, EA is making me rich by this, wanted to buy the Mass Effect franchise, NFS Shift, Battlefield but with these jokes I prefer to keep my money in my pockets. It saved me at least €400,- by now.

Before I started using I thought of the same as described in the text and how it would be better.

Now, I am using Windows 8 for 2 months and I must say, it would be a huuuuge annoyance to have these apps windowed.

I find it much more comforting to have to focus on only 1-2 apps at the time, instead of the 7 screens you have open. I find it much easier to do anything. When in the desktop environment I have at least 5-6 windows open, multiple Explorer windows etc. etc. and it is a huge annoyance to have them all on your desktop and you'll lose sight of everything really quickly, and mainly that is something that I am really loving about Metro.
