Did a bunch of bankers fax a stranger's sensitive privates to YOU?
In a previous job I got a fax from a Police station containging details of a criminal case. I called them to let them know they were sending information to incorrect numbers. The girl on the other end of the phone politely apologised, promised they would sort it out and asked that I fax the information back to them so they could destroy it......

Windows 8 appears to be boosting interest in Linux...
About a month ago I installed Mint to dual boot with my W7 desktop. I almost exclusivley use it now. Just installed in on my Samsung Notebook too. Runs absolutely fine.An I.T. friend (and Windows Phile, even has a Windows Phone) laughed at me until they saw it in action last week. Now they're off to try a dual boot Mint install themselves.

Doctor Who? 12th incarnation sought after Matt Smith quits
The Doctor actually has a strong eccentric English gent stereotype so much as I'd like to see the new actor challenge race and gender stereotypes it'll be a white male. It'll also be someone known but not that famous so the vast majority of names listed here will not be in the running (apart from Zoidberg obviously).
Rather than Cumberbatch or Freeman who will both cost too much how about Andrew Scott, who played Moriarty in the recent BBC remake?

Re: Nice article!
WH Smiths will survice, not becuase they do anything that "corner shops" don't do but because they own a massive distribution company that delivers products all over the UK to far more sound businesses that WHS themselves. The WHS shops piggy back off off this delivery service.

I do hope everyone gets the wages they're owed but if it was me, even if I'd been paid, I'd be looking for guarantees going forward that I was still going to get paid. What happens in January can easily repeat in Feb and beyond if the underlying cause (the debt interest payment) is still there.
I've been in a similar situation years ago when the dotcom bubble burst. Luckily I was only owed a weeks pay plus a weeks redundancy which I did eventually get, about six months later.
