Theme Parks

No doubt Bletchley Park will be turned into a ghastly abomination like Stonehenge or Lands End. Better we bulldoze the whole thing now, rather than it become like either of these sad theme parks.

I notice that the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum is currently being redeveloped. I do hope that this isnt undergoing the theme park transformation as it was excellent when I last visited it ten years ago.

Everything has to be so pre-digested these days in "learning experiences for fee paying schoolchildren" that it actually looks (is) fake. The best museums should always contain some messy random things that challenge the comprehension of the visitors.

Of course £8M in lottery funds will build a great burger bar. I think they should get Peter de Savary in to run the place (See Lands End). Once they get the site bulldozed and the premium parking sorted out it should start to turn a tidy profit. They should be able to do just as good a job as has been done to Stonehenge, it often takes less than two hours to walk from the visitor centre to the actual thing itself, stunning eh? I wonder if they can get Justin Bieber to open the place or even better on the board of directors.

Stereoscopic "3D" failed in the cinema in the 1950's. I know marketing has come a long way since then but even now its not possible to sell utter rubbish to the public without some pushback.

I am utterly astonished that there is no hint that the high profile extreme risk of changing the operating system from a WIMP interface to a slidey touch phone one - no matter what the hardware, figures nowhere in the analysis of why sales are not at the level expected. Are these people complete and utter morons.

If you have any sense I would sell everything to do with Microsoft - including shares in their partners because of this bizarre blindness. They must be grinding up those touch tablets and smoking them. A slow launch I could understand but bleating this juvenile nonsense without reference to the elephant in the room shows them to be so utterly complacent they must have a death wish.

Oh how I hate those sites that have multicolored tiles randomly sliding all over the page, death is too good for them. Well done to the Reg for not having multicolored flashing gif or their modern equivalent all over the interface.
