YouTube fight gets dirty: Kids urged to pester parents over Article 13

The Nazz

Re: actually driving a teenager to threaten suicide?

re "Presumably social services will be scheduled for a visit, along with a shrink. Her poor parents must be mortified, worried, and thoroughly embarrassed."

Parents SHOULD be worried if they are scheduled for a visit from Social Services.

It's not like they have a good track record (no pun intended) on good interventions, is it?

A lesson to be learned here.

Firstly, congrats on yet another successful launch and rendezvous.

The lesson that a lot of modern day manufacturers could learn? If it (the design)ain't broke don't fix it.

Shoddy, or malicious*, workmanship, well that's an entirely different story.

Speaking of malicious, the BBC carried a news item recently of someone taping scalpel blades to childrens playground slides. WTF is the world coming to?

Audits

I thought the purpose of an audit was to dig deep into the businesses records, not just accounting, to determine the factuality of all matters? "Being lied to" is a) a matter that would soon be discovered and b) not an excuse in any event.

if, and it's a big if, they were "backdating" contracts and revenues as per the charge sheet, then it seems to me their UK VAT invoices would be invalid, and unlawful, on the "point of supply" dating.

Maybe, they did fully comply with the UK accounting standards at the time.

Can never understand why it takes years, and months of actual trials, to determine relatively simple facts.

"I teach under 15's Rugby*. The problem is, i tell the boys what we are gonna do and they go and do it. I tell the girls what we are gonna do and i get 15 opinions back on what they think we should be doing."

It now appears to be a growing issue in democracies and employment.

Joe Public wants NHS to spend its cash on cancer, mental health, not digital services

The Nazz

What ranking did "free and unlimited" parking achieve?

Common perception, and multiple localised newspaper/radio reports all have it the the MAIN thing people want from their NHS is free and unlimited parking when they get there.

Mind you, something needs to change. On my last visit to a hospital, accompanying a friend (i rarely need to go myself, yet) i was staggered at the length of the queues simply to purchase a parking ticket. Which certainly are not cheap.

I also wonder about the make up of the "1800 adults" involved in the survey and the detailed breakdown of them.

Re: Too hard

Interesting comment that about "illegal parking". Yes, traffic wardens exist and yes, people frequently get ticketed, those which stick* are almost always entirely their fault for their chosen action.

But, i would be willing to wager that less than 5% of illegal parking is ticketed. I could go out now, 9pm in the evening and within minutes find hundreds of cars parked illegally which won't get ticketed.

So, should we ban all motorists because some park illegally and get away with it?

* eg the twat of an Oxford city centre warden issuing a ticket despite a perfectly valid parking ticket being on display, immediately cancelled upon a complaint being made, obviously, albeit at my further time and expense.

For some reason, maybe being elected "by an avalanche of voters" on a platform of "Change", supposedly for the good, (actually anything but) he makes me think of Blair. Maybe it's the same arrogance that he, and he alone, knows best, and what's best for us all.

Perhaps he should simply start with making France a safer place? Move to London and become Mayor here, maybe?
