Americans love wireless - and AT&T too

Third... But who's counting? American companies are like their cars and marriages.. Along the way you may hit a few bumps and flat tires, but they were only built to last a few years....

Apple grants Windows PCs the right to run Safari for Windows

Thumb Down

No, not a slow news day...

This is very frustrating as an IT admin. I have a very specific job of maintaining AND UPDATING ~ 1400 PCs day in and day out, and the idea that Apple sliding their browser into the "critical updates" screen is like MS adding "ONE CARE" to their "critical updates" list. And to forget to change your EULA to reflect these new changes is simply catching Jobs with his pants down in an effort to increase the popularity of his software. If I had previously installed Safari and confirmed our cold fusion backends were approved for SAFARI browsing, then I would not be so upset.

*siiiigh* And now my phone is ringing off the hook... Time for a pub break....

I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!

Wow I needed that laugh today... I quit the nicotine and I was hurting...

I can just imagine the "envelope sealer" guy at Capita staring at the 8th reem of paper needed for the reciepts and assuming that the client really did requested 3500 reciepts...

Envelope sealer guy: "Ummm... boss...?"

PHB: "What is it PFY?"

Envelope sealer guy: "Eh, nevermind"

Being a "PFY", I was still in grade school when this "mismanagement" occurred, and had no idea that this was even an issue! It truly vexes me that Bill Gates would actively make that decision in his software, knowing full well that in such a scenario it would destroy the competition.

Someday Bill Gates will personally pay for every cheap "Rockefeller tactic" that he used to suffocate healthy compeition and R&D. I shudder to think of his demise....

How about...

Windows live! We've patented brainwave technology, so you're going to be using it one way or another. And be sure to check out our newest product line: Windows Live JediMind trick! Well, nevermind... you're going to be using that one way or another too...

Bluescreens anyone?

Hmm.... "Tell me how you feel about-" *close pop-up* "Tell me how you-" *close pop-up*

Would they be called "Visualize-Ups"? And what about the spyware... Hmm... Then I could log what I was thiking for future reference when the girlfriend claims i didn't hear what she said...

Well, hopefully it will go better than their "Speech Recognition" built into Vista...

I Ms. Eagle's point...

I mean, think about it... My copy of UBUNTU needs its monthly "Patch Tuesdays" updates in order to remain as secure as they need it to be....

...oh wait....

Hmmm... I can't seem to find the KB articles referencing the buffer overrun trojans or IE ActiveX holes for my "open source operating system"...

Well Mac OSX simply can't meet the needs either! Ms. Eagle would have to return the promised "No strings attached Bentley" to Microsoft if she went against her word to Bill! And that's just outrageous!

Microsoft punts web-based apps to the masses

OpenSorce Phreak

Soooo, let me get this striaght....

1) Google creates GoogleApps

2) Ballmer throws chair against wall and then wants the same app

3) Ballmer talks to Bill and decides to create "MS-Apps"

4) Bill agrees, but requires the full install in order to work

5) Bill has huge "pep rally" to get everyone excited

6) Everyone stares at him in confusion?

7) App fails miserably and Ballmer goes back to step 2

How dare they!!!

Do you have ANY idea how much the Microsoft lobbyists had to give them for that monopoly? You know, they will probably put a hold on that 20 million dollar "thank you" check they had to write! And the Ferraris?! They won't get back what they paid for them either!

Man, what kind of world do we live in that won't allow Bill Gates to run his company? All he want's to do is show his love to us! And what do we do? We tell him "there's other operating systems out there too"! *Siiiigggh*

Microsoft sent FCC defective wireless prototype

OpenSorce Phreak

It's not a defective component...

It's a "feature"! Silly FCC, Microsoft doesn't make mistakes! All you have to do is wear the provided tinfoil hat to avoid the so-called "interference" waves!

Massachusetts kowtows to Microsoft

Seeing red....

Am I the only one that is disturbed that one of the few government departments in the US that actually MANDATED open source requirements has "folded under pressure from Microsoft" to consider their software again? I can just picture the conversation now... "Hmm... well, we have 99.9% of the govt. markets, but there's one holding out... what? They want ODF support??? Well, then have one of the script kiddies downstairs scratch together an 'add-on converter' and then call it a 'feature'..."
