not about Android

This is about LiMo merging with Meego, which was already donated to the Linux Foundation by Intel and Nokia. It's not about Android.

This is the recurring release

On time again! I predicted a panicky article about Firefox security would be released today back in December (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/12/17/mozilla_3_0_5_and_2_0_0_1_9_updates/comments/). That's because this release is part of the normal cycle and has been planned for months. The next release, according to https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases, is on March 4th. Presumably we can expect another article about security failings on March 5th.

Honestly, would you prefer it if they didn't release regular security updates, especially ones that install so easily?

actually this release was planned for weeks

as you can see by going to https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases, this release has been planned for weeks and is part of Mozilla's regular update. The next one is planned for Feb 3rd. Presumably we can expect another Register article about security panics on Feb 4th. Or would the Register prefer it if browser makers didn't patch their software?

No transfer of service

I've also been disconnected. I've been trying for months to pay my bills by direct debit - every time I call, they claim it's gone through, but then no payments come out of my account.

What's more, they're not transferring us to new providers. BT are charging £125 for a transfer, and the rump of Bulldog is £100.

Why the hell aren't they just transferring us over - I shouldn't have to pay this charge!
