Asteroid miners hunt for platinum, leave all common sense in glovebox

I suspect they're fully aware it's a pipe dream. The reason they put these stories out there is to acclimatise the masses to the increased presence of asteroids, comets and their offspring in our corner of space.

It's codswollop of course. An asteroid will hit us before we get ever to 'mine asteroids'.
