Ive been tracking my own speed for months on a 100Mbps optus plan and typical performance in the evenings is 1-2MBps. Im thinking at what stage does this not conform to the advertised "up to" speed. When its 1-2% of the advertised performance? Optus's decision to unmet Netflix certainly alter performance but then again I like Netflix and it still works well in the evenings. Other things not so well.

The alternative is they throttle folks down to a guaranteed speed but that wouldn't look competitive in the market place would it.

So have had Optus HFC here is Brisbane for years and get 100Mbps with their speed pack. Although having said that it is good for 80-90Mbps in the morning but by evening it limps along at 3-5Mbps. Still better than ADSL+ so not complaining too much But to say its not suitable for broadband when its doing right now what the NBN says its going to provide seems like BS to me. Wonder how much more our glorious new NBN account will cost once they turn off or overbuild our cable to provide the same service.....

because on reading the paper there is no relationship between the dose of the GM maize and the rate of death eg more GM actually gave less death. If this was a toxin then this would not be expected. The group numbers (10 per treatment) are also very small. As usual poorly designed study = results that dont make sense and cant be properly interpreted. And its a crap journal suggesting it didnt stand up to better scrutiny in a more well know publication.
