Apple iPad Mini 8in tablet review

Bored_Stupid

Re: Reviews vs other iPads and not Android tablets?

Yeah because Apple released the iPad mini in an attempt to draw users away from the iPad, err, maxi or whatever tf it's currently called.

Get real, it's aimed at getting some share in the smaller tablet market, that market that according to apple didn't actually exist.

Comparing it to similarly-sized androids would make perfect sense for a meaningful review.

I know well of someone who has the windows logo, full colour, about 3 inch square, tattooed on their upper arm.

Re: Xbox is huge in britain

Worth pointing out though that XBox Live is generally regarded as being a good bit better than PSN.

The House of Stupid has both Xbox360 and PS3, and for anything that's likely to be played online the teen Stupids look for the Xbox first.

Quite why that translates into europe going for the PS3 though is anybody's guess, but is that right anyway? I don't know any figures and frankly can't be arsed looking them up, but Bored is regularly in France and the Xbox section in Leclerc or SuperU always seems to have more space dedicated to it than the PS3 section :/

+1 for the "S3 doesn't feel too big to me" camp.

Perfectly comfortable for one-handed use and fits in my pocket just fine.

Re: Seagate?

Not really. It strikes me as more of a lever to open things up so that their real beef can get heard.

But even if you are right, enough straws eventually break the camel's back.

Erm, no, I don't actually. You've screwed up on my machine with just about every update since about Hardy.

Re: Space, and the enormity of it

It might have been useful if the article author had delved a little deeper into this as the article's opening sentence could be read as to imply imply that the galaxy in question is currently 13.2 billion light years distant, when it isn't. That's just the age of the light we are seeing. The galaxy has since receded much further from us.

In truth Bored_Stupid knows much of this, but then you get into questions of speculation, assumption, theory etc - all of which may be right or may be wrong.

And once the uncertainty comes in, once it just becomes theory, then it ceases to blow my mind.

Space, and the enormity of it

just makes me go "Woooaaaaahhhh" at times. Getting your head round a gazillion transistors on a chip is peanuts compared to this stuff.
