Firstly, because you arent supposed to be using your phone while driving. Secondly, I'm more confused why this is something new.

I've been doing this for several years when I'm driving home to turn on my espresso machine so it's warm when I get there.

I have the 8th gen dex dock, I really wish Samsung would have done it the way the Huawei mate pro did it by using just a cable.
