How the FLAC do I tell MP3s from lossless audio?

steve 102

Take it my simple view is flawed then?

I've always gone off a simple basis like this:

My vinyl sounded clearest (until I scratched a few too many 12's on Vestax PDX 2000)

My tapes sounded shyte but generally gave me access to free music

My CD's sounded better that tape but not as nice as vinyl

My mp3's at whatever rate sound ok but shyte compared to cd & vinyl

My FLAC files don't exist as can't be arsed to get everything in that format

MP3 players are cheap (or early ones were) and so the sound was always going to be weak especially with manufacturers cheap headphones

Is my view way too simplistic by any chance?

iPhone 6: Most exquisite MOBILE? No. It is the Most Exquisite THING. EVER

My oh my that was boring

Well now i feel a tool after realising this is basically a piss take of Mr Frys disgraceful love affair with iphones. Now he really needs to change his life if he thinks any mobile phone can fall into the exquisite & beautiful

My oh my that was boring

I gave up approx half way through as it appears I can only read so much utter junk before feeling the urge to sleep

FAIL

Re: HTC One Black - no stock

That's me all over; even replaced the stupid case I was given with the work iphone5 that had no hole in the back - why on earth would I want people to see that I'm carrying an iPhone 5? Apart from to get that self satisfying smile as they look at you & think 'unlucky, enjoy your iPhone & its tendency to make you want to smash it & replace with something that has a modern interface'

Apple pulls in TomTom, kicks Google off iPhones

WTF?

Am I missing the point?

Could have been that need to read again. Is this article saying IOS6 will give users free TomTom or just that it'll be integrated into opsys and activated on payment? If it's not free, whats the point? Surely people will just stick to basic but acceptable freebies such as SatFree / NavFree or whatever it's called or carry on ripping off TomTom by grabbing it through Cydia? If Google do start charging Android users that's another matter but in the meantime & based on my own experiences of TomTom the GoogleMaps is years ahead for mapping. Does TomTom do the handy stuff like auto zoom to road signs and show streetview of destination?
